Help, I'm so itchy

My whole body is unbelievably itchy I just don't know what to do.

I'm covered in moisturiser and it's made no difference.

I would rather be in pain then this it's torture. Does anyone have any advise?

How far along are you? Have you any other symptoms? I seem to remember this is symptomatic of something in pregnancy - without wishing to worry you!

I'd seek medical advice, OP: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant/

Are you hands/feet itchy? Have you been tested for Obstetric Cholestasis?

Definitely speak to your midwife, as unbearable itching is a classic symptom.
I had it when I was pregnant with one of my DC and I found temporary relief from cold showers, standing on a cold tiled floor and generally not letting myself get too warm, as that made the itching much worse.

It could be a sign of liver problems and I’m not trying to scare you at all. Give your midwife a call x

I agree with all the others. Not a symptom to ignore. Call them please.

TerribleTwosPhase · 13/04/2019 21:25

I would ring your midwife OP. I remember being told this could be a symptom of something, sorry I can't actually remember what though.

Thanks everyone, I'm only 15 weeks.

It's literally just come on the past couple of days and has just the evening become unbearable.

I haven't got itchy hands or feet it's mostly my thighs and back. I generally do have sensitive skin.

I will speak to midwife and see what she says.

I have unbearably itchy legs (currently 25 weeks) and I had the same thing in my last pregnancy. When I mentioned it to my midwife last time she wasn’t really interested as it wasn’t my hands/feet. So this time I haven’t even bothered mentioning it.

Could be PUPPS, but that’s usually later on in pregnancy
