Has anybody else seen this? Iv seen 2 women on YT drink it and go into labour, I always thought castor oil was a no go!! But it seems to be working for a lot of full term women! (I am only 13 weeks😂) but just wanted to see if anyone else had seen this and what your opinion was!?

Not sure about that, but I ate most of a large pineapple after dinner and my waters broke at 1am. Four days early ( but ready to get baby out)

Surely if anything like this actually worked then the NHS would save themselves a fortune on inductions and just give people this to drink?

Correlation is not the same as causation. You said it seems to work on a lot of full term women... they were probably going to go into labour anyway but since they had the drink they think it must be that.

Like pp said, if it really did work the NHS could save a fortune.

@MynameisJune @FormerlyFrikadela01 its come from America, and over there they induce you on your due date. So this is women over 37 weeks.

Castor oil is really not recommended. It irritates your bowels which can affect the uterus.

Personally I think I'd rather not go into labour with an irritable bowel Confused

Doesn't make a difference. Do every women this has "worked" for there'll be hundreds that it hasn't. Until a peer reviewed robust study comes out proving this works I'll carry on thinking it's utter tosh.

You also got to wonder why people are trying to induce their labour at 37 weeks. I was induced early for medical reasons but the consultant still asked me wait until 39 weeks (with regular monitoring) as it was better for the baby.

@FormerlyFrikadela01 37 Weeks is classed as full term in most American states, I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons and will probably be the same with this baby! I think id rather wait the extra couple of weeks than drink castor oil 🤢 xx
