Hi all I'm 24 weeks and was stood in a que today and had that awful faint feeling.. lucky I got out the shop and sat down and it passed. What could cause this? Everything at my 16 week appointment was normal e.g. blood pressure/iron.

I’m also currently 24 weeks and I had this on Monday at work. Suddenly came over funny like I didn’t have the energy to stand up and light headed. I was fine once I sat down. Never had this in my previous pregnancy or in this one before. I put it down to not having time to have a proper breakfast that day. Only had time to grab a hot cross bun to eat in the car. Had a midwife appointment yesterday and everything was fine.

I also get this. Normally when I am warm - pregnancy does increase body temp I believe. Although my blood pressure has been on the low side. I think it continues to drop for some of the second trimester so it could have changed since booking? Or iron for that matter?

Sorry I meant since 16 weeks.

I have naturally low bp and orthostatic hypertension issues.

Fainting was one of first signs I had before I even did a test with dd. Stood up too quick at work once was told later by colleague that the blood just drained from my face "like a cartoon characters" and I just keeled right over! Wacking great bump on head and headache next day as colleague couldn't cross large office fast enough. Horrible feeling.

Dropped 5-6 times while pregnant, most times either someone caught me or I fell back onto bed or sofa, worst one was in the shower, covered in bruises the next day.

Was able to avoid passing out a few times with the old head between the knees or a tepid drink (never hot or properly cold)

I feel for you, keep your fluids up and don't rise too fast take your time and avoid hot/stuffy places - I was pregnant over Christmas and at one point was caught by a fellow shopper while queuing for prezzies.

I've been feeling like this for the past week now (27+3) lightheaded a lot of the time and tired/breathless. Got my 28 week bloods soon so wondering if I may be anaemia. I'm finding making sure that I'm eating/drinking enough is helping as I feel faint when hungry! Have checked my blood pressure and it's slightly lower than usual so may be that. Will see what midwife says. It's a horrible feeling though!

I fainted at 16 weeks and all my stats were normal.
Doctor said it was how they used to diagnose pregnancy years ago Grin
