I had a horrible tear & pretty bad preclampsia with my DS 2 years ago so this pregnancy has been consultant led and have been booked in for a section. Can anyone give me their tips for recovery and anything specific I should be taking in my hospital bag to help with this?
Thanks very much

Mothercare c-section pants, worth every penny! I have had two sections 1st EMCS 2nd ELCS, the pants were awesome Smile

From bitter experience - have your hospital bag packed and ready to go in case you go into spontaneous labour earlier than expected! You should still get your CS but throwing stuff into a case between contractions is not an experience I’d recommend.

Get someone to bring you masses of fruit to help with the first poos 👍🏻

Tie a sheet to the end of the bed to pull yourself upright! I had DS in a next to me crib so couldn’t shuffle sideways. Being able to pull myself up was really useful and good for getting in position for feeds too.

I got mobile as early as possible (about 5 hours post-op) and have to say I felt really good. I think there is a lot to be said for moving as much as you feel able to.
