Is it bad for baby to not kick in the bath?

I've only been feeling movements this past week right down low in my bump, I haven't got a pattern yet and I do have an anterior placenta. I'm 25 weeks. I last felt baby a couple of hours ago I believe. I tried having a bath for the first time just now, not too hot but was in there for around half an hour and baby didn't kick once. I've got out since and have tried laying down flat as that's when I normally feel him the most and still nothing. I'd heard babies kick loads in the bath. Could something be wrong or is it just too early still!

I’m 29 weeks now and the baby never really kicks in the bath at all!

Have you tried having a cold drink? If you're worried just take yourself into mau and have a check up. When i was pregnant with DS he wouldnt kick in the bath, actually as soon as i went in water he would be silent, currently pregnant with DC2 and they fidget loads but only when im in the shower. Please do get checked if you're concerned tho.

I have 3 children and never even noticed if they kicked in the bath or not, I didn’t know it was something that should happen?

If you are worried, go to your maternity centre and get checked. They can always put your mind at rest.

My daughter never really kicked in the bath (also anterior placenta). Currently pregnant with DC2 and placenta is posterior this time so feels very different. This one does kick in the bath but movements feel very pronounced compared to my daughter. If you’ve been feeling movements regularly (even if you don’t think there’s a pattern) and they change at all, please do go get seen by a midwife at the hospital or at the very least give them a ring and ask their advice. Don’t try to down play it to them, just explain you’re worried and that movements have changed.

I've been going in a lot for them to check heartbeat when I hadn't felt any movement at all as I was so worried. Now I've only been feeling it a few days I feel slightly crazy to ring and ask to go in because babies kicking less especially if it's just early. Argh why can I never stop worrying!

My boy doesn’t really move whilst I’m in the bath.

Try a cold drink and lying on your left to see if baby gets moving

My baby never kicked in the bath!

25 weeks is still early for any sort of pattern in movements. Also a bath will not harm your baby even if very hot. The bath cools too quickly to raise your internal temp to dangerous levels. It is never the same as a hot tub. The only danger of a hot bath is that you become faint and slip trying to get out.
It’s so hard. Otto worry about movements. As others said have a cold sugary drink and lay still and hopefully you’ll feel some movement within an hour. Usually your baby will have movement patterns from 28 weeks onwards. Hope that helps a bit. X

Mine is a very active boy - lots and lots of movement especially any time I lie down. He's very quiet whenever I'm in the bath though!

My DC used to go to sleep when I was in the bath Grin. Try lying on your left hand side and having a cold drink. Also try playing music to the bump and giving it a bit of a prod- usually works. If you’re still concerned contact your midwife or the hospital.
