Hello, I'm 38 weeks pregnant, DC2

The past week I've been having a HELL OF A LOT of discharge, both really watery and also sometimes extremely thick and snot like.

Told the midwife today and she made me do a swab test thing that she's sent off to check if all is alright but she couldn't give me many reasons.
I didn't have this much in my last pregnancy.
She tested my urine and all was fine with that. No water infections or anything.
Also no itching so not thrush. It's just discharge.

For the past 3 days I've been getting braxton hicks in the evenings and right now for the past hour and a half I've had pretty bad lower back pain.

I can't remember my plug coming out with my first but I hear it's means to be bloody, there's no blood in the thicker discharge so I take it it's not my plug?

Please help and sorry for TMI.
pains currently getting a bit stronger in my lower back and lower tummyConfused

I’ve not lost my plug but from what I’ve read it can look like heavy discharge and isn’t always streaked with blood. But it can go before labour and build up again so not always a sure sign that you’re going into labour.

Does sound like you may be going into early labour though from the rest of what you’ve said.

Probably worth ringing the labour ward and talking them through your symptoms.

Sounds like it might be a show or your waters? Get checked out to be on the safe side. If it's your waters, the hospital will want to know! My waters went and they booked me in for induction 24 hours later. As it was labour happened naturally and DC was born without needing to be induced.
