Am I pregnant?

Hi ladies,
I just wanted some help/advice, Monday I didn't feel right, very tired, achy (a bit how I felt when I found out I was pregnant with my son) so I decided to take a early pregnancy test. Anyway the results came back with a strong negative however a faint positive line as well? I ended up just leaving it and then over the next couple of morning repeating it, but still getting the same results. On Thursday I had enough and went to the doctors as I didn't like the suspense of not knowing, her normal test came back negative and said to just wait a week and do it again next Thursday. Anyway I'm pretty impatient and still been doing them but the last couple I have done have been negative. So I'm not entirely sure whether I am or not. I've done about 6 which have all showed a faint positive and then only a couple which have been negative. It won't let me attach the photos for some reason but if anyone knows how I can show you etc or just some advice?

Hi I am wondering the same thing with me. Have you had any implantation bleeding ? If so could someone help me out . I have had some very strange discharge . So i had unprotected sex a few times and not taking any pills . I had little bit off this dark red brown discharge that was it and then next day had some very light brown stuff just for that day . so I’m not sure if this is implantation sign off pregnancy . I’ve had some back Ace breast have felt strange to . I hope your tests come back positive for you 🙂

@1995xoxo I just done a digital one as well and it says the same thing. I've read online though that they're not as sensitive or pick up early pregnancy as well as the ones we've been previously using so don't be too disheartened. Just use a first response early detection on your next morning wee! X

They look positive to me. The internet cheapie ones are generally v sensitive.

Hey,

We asked a midwife, Clare, to go over some common early signs of pregnancy - hope it's helpful!

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 08:52

Hey girls - so today I am 4 days late for my period. I did a first response test yesterday (but in the afternoon so wasn't my first wee) and it was negative. Not really sure what's going on or what I should do? I work in maternity and some of my friends who are midwives have said you can get false negatives more so than false positives so if I go a week and still haven't come on then to go to the doctors.

You may of had a chemical pregnancy where the pregnancy never really took off.. that’s why you would be getting negatives now. Sorry

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 09:03

@Saltystraw so a miscarriage?

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 09:04

@Saltystraw I haven't had any bleeding though

Like a very early miscarriage, sometimes women have them and their period comes on time, sometimes it’s a week late. They are very common but just not picked up on unless you use a very sensitive test. I would just wait and see if your period still doesn’t arrive in the next week and then go back to the dr for a blood test.

One of the tests looks positive so I'd call your GP. Hcg levels are low at the start of pregnancy which is probably why the ones with later in the day urine are coming up negative.

I think first response is better personally too.

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 15:12

@LetsDoThisAgain I done a first response yesterday afternoon and it came up negative?

The cheap tests are the best as the gp uses these.i would just keep testing every few days.

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 15:31

@Angelinthenightx that's what I thought but I just don't know now. If I haven't come in by Monday then I guess I should go doctors again.

Hi Ladies,

I am hoping someone might have some words of advise for me or had a similar experience and wouldn't mind sharing their story...

I may be 4+6 weeks pregnant today. I took a pregnancy test last Thursday (2 days before expected AF) and it was positive albeit extremely faint. On Monday, I started very lightly bleeding, suppose you could say it was a little bit heavier than spotting. The bleeding lasted 1.5 days and I didn't experience any cramping whatsoever.
I took a pregnancy test on Tuesday, yesterday and again today (I know I shouldn't try to work out if i'm still pregnant by testing but i'm a piss on stick addict)and the line is getting darker.

My wonder is, if i'm experiencing a chemical pregnancy, surely the line would fade and not get darker? Why didn't I cramp? Why did the bleeding not last very long? Why are my boobs throbbing, still?

I'm baffled. I had a blighted ovum in January, found out at 12 weeks. Horrendous! Now i'm possibly pregnant again, i'm riddled with anxiety.

Any advise or stories from experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day! xxxxxx Smile

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 18:21

@ENDWITS aw bless you, must be so hard not knowing. I haven't experienced anything like this before but if I was you I would probably go to the doctors and they could send you to a obs/gynae for further investigations.

If you're having a chemical pregnancy then you would still test positive for a couple weeks due to the hormone still being in your body.

Hope this is ok xxxxx

Thank you for replying @smith96
I know I shouldn’t test but I can’t help it lol Blush. I know hgc can stick around for a while but thought the line would fade with each day post bleed. Need to chill out and stop wasting my money! I’ll call the docs and see what they say. Xxx thanks

Smith96 · 11/04/2019 18:34

@ENDWITS let me know xxxxx
