Just want to hear from ladies who have successfully conceived. Before doing the test, did you have obvious symptoms? Did you know before the you did the test? Is it very different to PMS?

OP posts:

Symptom wise it was very similar to normal pms (as in I always experienced tiredness/sore boobs/cramps during the luteal phase), however I'm a luteal phase spotter, usually spot from about cd 24 and with both my pregnancies (1mc, currently 12 weeks) I had absolutely no spotting. Also I kept crying watching Grey's Anatomy so I knew before I tested it would be positive. My test line was very dark at 14dpo so I think I had an early implanter though!

Sore puffy boobs and a sore lower back, I can't describe it but I felt 'weird', just knew did a test and tah dah pregnant

adeo1929 · 05/04/2019 15:38

Mine was an accidental pregnancy, so I wasn't looking out for symptoms. My boobs hurt the most they ever have in my life.

Narya · 05/04/2019 15:44

I had zero symptoms besides a missed period until I started to get a bump around 16 weeks!

stuckonaname · 05/04/2019 15:46

My wee definitely smelt different.. hard to explain but 'stronger'. Very sore and bigger boobs. Went off chocolate which is very very very unusual for me Smile.
Nausea kicked in about 5 weeks, it did go about 17 weeks..
Was in a meeting in work and got a really strong metallic taste in my mouth one morning.. completely random and I was just drinking water!
Felt like implantation pains one day at work- like period cramps but no period came..
I'd say these all happened to me at around the 3-5 week mark.. when I tested the test said 3+ weeks. The Doc put me at 6 weeks when I went for confirmation a few days later.

I thought I was pregnant many times when TTC. The cycles I actually got my BFP's were probably the ones I was least convinced.

singymummy · 05/04/2019 15:53

My first pregnancy I didn't know until I was almost 6 months
My second I knew at around 4/5 weeks!!
I fully believe there is no set rule for a person and each pregnancy is different Grin

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 05/04/2019 16:35

I certainly didn't have any clues before missed period. Always thought I would and was looking for subtle differences, but nothing noticeable at all. In fact I felt the same as normal for many weeks! X

afternoontwee · 05/04/2019 16:47

The only thing I had different to normal PMS symptoms were a single, sharp needle-like pain in my right boob about 2 days before my period was due. I did however 'know' I was pregnant before I did the test - I was never more than 3-4 days late for a period in my life and by the time I tested I was 6 days late.

hopll · 05/04/2019 16:49

11 weeks and have had no symptoms apart from going off vegetables and some nausea but that's not unusual for me when I'm not pregnant

cloudymelonade · 05/04/2019 17:10

Completely different for everyone I'm afraid so you probably won't get a particularly helpful answer.
For me though it was obvious, I haven't been sick in about 10 years and was puking several times a day from about 2 weeks after we conceived.

weepat · 05/04/2019 18:29

Don't laugh.
The cat started sleeping on me . Like actually sitting on my belly when I was in bed.

In her 17 years the only times she slept in my bed were the twice I was pregnant.

The minute both children were born she went back to her own bed.
She is the reason I knew I was getting a 2nd baby 6 years after the first.

GrumpySausage · 05/04/2019 18:38

With my first pregnancy, it was ridiculously obvious. Sickness even before period was late and non stop sickness for weeks. Throwing up at the sight of food etc.

Second pregnancy, no symptoms at all. I convinced myself I had made it up and did 7 pregnancy tests up until my 12 week scan.

riotlady · 05/04/2019 18:48

My only symptom at first was my anxiety going haywire- I already suffered from it but it suddenly got really intense for no discernible reason. I did the test mostly on a whim and it turned out I was pregnant! The nausea etc kicked in about a week later

Summerlovin24 · 05/04/2019 19:53

Sore boobs, which I never got each month like some people do. I wasn't trying yo get pregnant so i wasnt alerted

MrsDilligaf · 05/04/2019 20:48

I took a bag of grass cuttings and other garden rubbish to the tip...I very nearly threw up due to the smell.

I went right off tea in the morning so switched to coffee.

I was 3 days late when I took a test which was positive Grin

BUT...I remember thinking immediately after dtd that I was pregnant, It was like a lightbulb moment..."ooh I'm pregnant ".

I should have put two and two together!

OutAndAbouter · 05/04/2019 20:53

I absolutely knew. I had night sweats and full on flu like symptoms for a few days- I'd had the same when I fell pregnant with my first dc but it was only when it happened again when we were ttc dc2 that my OH said 'I wonder if you're pregnant?' That was at around 4 weeks.
With dc1 it only clicked that I was pg at 7 weeks as I sprayed my deodorant and immediately had to run to the bathroom to vomit... it only occurred to me that I'd developed a complete aversion to Diet Coke, coffee and alcohol... which prior to that had been my staple diet.

shivbo2014 · 05/04/2019 21:33

I knew before taking a test. Sore bigger boobs and really veiny.

Rubyduby26 · 05/04/2019 21:43

I found out when I was 10 weeks pregnant as I have irregular periods and had been ttc for over 4 years! I started going off foods and craving foods around 10 weeks and that's what made me take a test, but for weeks before the food aversion I was weeing so much Blush I just felt like I needed to wee constantly I didn't think that was until much later in pregnancy but I found it much worse at the beginning!

rainbowstardrops · 05/04/2019 21:53

I completely went off bananas and my yoghurt that I usually had for lunch. That's what made me test.
Oh and the smell of vegetables cooking too. Never had any cravings that time around I don't think, just went off stuff from the beginning!
