6 weeks pregnant with baby no.2. Wasn't sick at all with baby no.1 but feeling really sick although I've never actually been sick. Is there anything that I can take or would it only be if I was vomiting?

My cousin said her Anti sickness med stop her being sick ( majority of the time ) but didn’t stop the sensation

Based on that I put up with it including being sick for 4 months because I was able to keep enough down

I found sometimes having a sweet fizzy juice like apple riser before I got up helped restore my sugars enough to semi function first thing ( though it was non stop it helped prevent being sick on occasion) and nipping regularly through the day only time I didn’t feel sick really

If you can nipple on crackers or pickles whatever you think doesn’t revolt you at this point x x if you let yourself get hungry it feels worse x

Nibble may be better than nipple ( sorry the cause of the sickness is in my arms right now and a little distracting )

I was the same - flat ginger ale and nibbling on very plain crackers got me through to 2nd trimester .

If it gets worse, it's worth asking your Dr about possible meds. Read the NICE guidelines so you're aware.

As for foods, I found salty crackers helped me feel more settled, and mango slices (not this time round though sadly).

I tried to keep food in my stomach at all times. Just a tiny bit. I generally felt better with white toast, chips etc. Hangover food. I also found that breathing through my mouth while brushing my teeth helped reduce gagging.

Yup! No vomiting at all with DC2 but the nausea was so bad I couldn't eat or drink. After nearly a week of nothing more than a few sips of flat 7up a day, I called the GP who prescribed me some anti-sickness meds which made everything so much better. It wasn't a complete cure - all through the pregnancy I went through phases of only being able to eat one thing for a few weeks. It meant I could eat & drink something though!

Thanks for your replies ladies, I will certainly try some of these. It's just difficult sitting in work feeling awful and can't tell anyone as I'm only 6 weeks 😑

This happened to me too! Definitely try and nibble some food. I also found fizzy water helped. I kept crackers, rich tea biscuits and nuts next to the bed to eat some before I got up. I also wore travel sickness bands. I had to tell my boss I was pregnant when I was around 8 weeks because I kept being sick and they were clearly suspicious. It does get better Flowers
