Sorry TMI pic - would you go back to hospital

Had a big fresh bleed on Saturday morning which ended in us staying at the hospital for observations. Extremely long story short - they couldn't figure out what it was, but we had the choice of incductiom or going home as there was no more blood loss. We decided to come home. I've had brown spotting, sometimes heavy sometimes barely anything, but this morning have woken up to this. I thought it might be my plug but it's not very thick and stringy, more a big gloop, a bit like a clot.

I really want to avoid going back in if I can. WWYD?

How do movements feel? I'd call the midwife for sure, it's a pain to go in but there's just no point in taking any risk at all.

Haz1516 · 02/04/2019 09:50

How many weeks are you?

I didn't have as much bleeding as you, but at 37 weeks passed a big blood clot. I went in for monitoring and they decided to induce me.

RosiePosies · 02/04/2019 10:08

@Haz1516 I'm 38 + 4, they would have induced me but I was so tired and I couldn't be there anymore

@MyKingdomForBrie she's not very active in the mornings anyway, so I'm finding it hard to tell, im going to have a lie down and have a cold drink

Do not risk your baby. Go straight in. Take the induction if offered.

beanhunter · 02/04/2019 10:25

I’d go back and take the induction personally. At a minimum phone them for advice.

PencereTencere · 02/04/2019 10:42

I would also go straight back in and ask for an induction.

Good luck OP.

RosiePosies · 02/04/2019 11:07

Thankyou everyone.

@Haz1516 how did you find your induction experience? Was it ok?

Haz1516 · 02/04/2019 12:34

Honestly it was all a bit of a nightmare. But just because it was for me doesn't mean it will be for you.

Take some earplugs so you can try and get some sleep before baby comes. If you end up on the drip then get an epidural.

bobstersmum · 02/04/2019 12:38

Go back and get induced. Today. Good luck

Bunnybaubles · 02/04/2019 14:29

I was induced last year at 35 weeks for medical reasons. Once I was moved to the labour suite I had morphine and the epidural. I slept right up until I had to push. DD arrived after 3 pushes. Not all induction stories are awful 😊 Goodluck OP

RosiePosies · 02/04/2019 14:43

Thank you so much @Bunnybaubles - on the labour ward now waiting for them to put the prostin drip in. They can't use propess because of the bleeding. They've said it's likely I will end up needing syntocinon and an epidural. This is not the home birth I planned!! But there we go 🤷🏻‍♀️

I planned a gas and air, water birth and ended up with pessary, drip induction and epidural. I tried to go as long as possible without the epidural after the drip induction but it does get really strong so have the epidural. It's not as bad as it seems. I was literally numb waist to tops of legs, I could wiggle my feet and stand afterwards.

Good luck my lovely! Thanks

celeryeater · 02/04/2019 15:01

Just to say I had my baby in August induced with the drip and didn't need an epidural so don't have one unless you want /need to. My labour was only about four hours though - but just really all I'm trying to say was it was fine and not too painful and quick! Good luck to you

RosiePosies · 03/04/2019 02:22

Thankyou @celeryeater and @HappyMama01

Have had two pessaries put in, we've got our own room on the labour ward and we've turned it into a cosy nest so are doing alright so far. Next pessary tomorrow at 3.30 but hopefully I won't need it! Having regular contractions, fingers crossed their doing something 🤞🏻

Crikey OP, that's quick!
Posted about pessaries at 2.20 then 3 hours later posted pic of baby! Are you superwoman? It took me hours to even stop shaking after my baby was born! Did you have an epidural?
Oh and congrats btw.

Soontobe60 · 04/04/2019 05:42
