When does bump start to show?

Hi all you wonderful lovelies here on Mumsnet.
I'm after some advice really. I am attending a family member's wedding in May and am currently 9 weeks pregnant. I am usually a size 14/16 with a bit of a tummy (pre-pregnancy).
This is probably going to sound odd but I'm wondering when I'm likely to start showing so that I can plan my outfit accordingly. Just on average as I appreciate it is different for every person.
Should I go straight to a maternity dress to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions or is it likely that by May I still probably won't be showing too much so could stick to my usual 14/16 sizes?
Sorry for the ramble!

With my first I started to show around 16 weeks. With my second around 8!

It's really variable! I'm a 14/16 but fairly tall and although I've had a visible bump to me and DH since around 16 weeks it's only the last few weeks I've properly started showing, and only today I feel I've really popped (26w). I personally would got for a floaty dress so that if you are showing it will skin the bump and if not it'll still look lovely. If you buy something tighter you may be fine but you also may find it a squeeze!

I didn't start showing with my first until I was over 22 weeks but everyone really is different.

If you go for the right style dress, you'll be able to wear it regardless of whether or not you're showing

With my first it was around 26 weeks before my bump become really noticeable. With the second, my belly had popped out around 9-10 weeks!

A nice maxi with a good material weight will work if you're not sure how big you'll be. Covers all bases!
