To lie on your stomach?

I'm 21 weeks, I'm not really big and my bump just looks like I've had a big meal 😂
On a night time I'm comfortable sleeping on my back and I usually dose off when lying on my side and switch between the two positions throughout the night. Currently I'm finding it more relaxing to sleep on my stomach but I'm scared incase it's dangerous for the baby. I can feel my bump get in the way of me and the bed and I feel him move still, just have this awful thought in the back on my mind that I'm hurting him. Is it safe?x

Nature sorts that out, if it's comfortable then it's fine. There will come a point when you won't be able to.

Now I could be completely wrong but I don't think you are supposed to lie on your stomach when pregnant. Again don't take my word for it.

Lying on your back isn’t recommended from a certain point (can’t remember when) and the same goes for the front. But you can create a pillow fort (or mountain) to allow you to feel supported lying on your side, well worth getting a semi decent pillow as later on you’ll want one!

Good luck with your pregnancy

I'm only 16 weeks, and don't really have a bump. I'm a serial stomach sleeper, but this past week it's become painful for me.
I stick a pillow behind my hips/back and then one between my legs. I've discovered that if i have my bottom leg straight and my top leg bent on top of a pillow, it feels similar to sleeping on stomach and i can sleep a few hours like that.

I haven't heard that it's dangerous per say, but i have heard that it's a good idea to mention it to your midwife.
I think sleeping on your back is harmful in the third trimester due to pressure on the artery, but I'm not entirely sure.

The pressure on the back can affect the cord, and therefore baby’s heartbeat. I heard the decrease in blood flow / heart beat at week 38 from lying on my back, but rolling back to side soon solved it.

I was told lying on your stomach is fine until it’s no longer comfortable (for me that was around 24 weeks). Avoiding your back is 3rd trimester onwards I think..
