Help!!!
I know for a fact I won't be the only one with this issue (so sorry if someone else has already started this thread somewhere else) but I'm having a bit of a dilema.
I'm normally a 32DD and Iv'e gone up to a 34E/F already (17 weeks preg)
I have trouble finding "normal" bras where I live and finding a 34E/F in a maternity/nursing bra is proving almost impossible (am currently squeezing into a 34DD)I'm just wondering does anyone have any recommendations?
and will they continue to get bigger as the pregnancy goes on?
I don't really want to spend loads on mail order bras only to find that 2 weeks later my boobs are even bigger...

Thanks in advance xxx

They won't go up too much more. Royce at debenhams do big cup size (I'm 34G ffs!!!)

throckenholt · 11/07/2007 13:09

bravado are quite good - they span traditional sizes to allow for expanding boobs (on a daily basis in the early days of feeding !)

You could get sports bras from any department store they tend to have larger sizes too usually. You may find you need a bigger size again once the baby is born and you are feeding (assuming you decide to of course) but probably the size won't change much until then.

Also M&S do larger sizes in ordinary bras too if that is any help

Bravissimo sorted me out, I'm of similar size to you. I'm not using a nursing bra yet, you can have a normal underwired one until later in pregnancy as long as it isn't too small.

I also have a sporty crop top I wear in bed because norks are too big to go free! Wish I knew where to get another like the one I've got though - I got it in Target in the States. It's just right because it isn't too harshly supportive.

snowleopard · 11/07/2007 13:31

I wore sloggi crop tops for this as they were the most comfortable and stretched as my norks grew. Also very cheap - got a few for £7 each at Matalan. If not enough support, you can wear two. They're also comfy for sleeping in at night, and I found I could use them for breastfeeding as well (just hoik the boob out either above or below). I bought a couple of expensive maternity /BF bras and never really used them as the sloggis did the job better.

M&S do a fab range of maternity bras, 2 for £20. so unbelievably comfy and supportive. I am 28+5 and have had to get my second set but am pretty sure these will last me til i have to measure for nursing bras at 36 weeks.

thehairybabysmum · 11/07/2007 13:38

Second Bravissimo too...ok to have underwired as long as correctly fitted. Indeed being large of nork myself i would say that it would be bordering on obscene for me to leave the house without an underwire!!

mistresstara · 11/07/2007 13:46

Anarchymummy-I know how you feel, I am 32 weeks and have gone from a 34GG to 38H!

vonsudenfed · 11/07/2007 13:46

The bad news is, they will go up more... I started out even bigger than you (F!) went up a cup size straight away, went up another cup size at the end of pregnancy, and ended up with a J-cup feeding bra. Seven months on it's finally getting too big. (I am also five foot two and so look like an upside down weeble...)

So, what worked for me? Didn't get out of underwired bras until 7 months into pregnancy - as long as the wire is flat on your chest and doesn't dig into the actual boob, they're fine.

I then bought a couple of bravado nursing bras from Blooming Marvellous (but you can get them all over the web - I also got a rather wonderful leopard print one to cheer myself up!). Although they're nursing bras, they're supportive and comfortable, and really worked for the end of pregnancy/start of feeding as, as someone else said. they are forgivingly elastic. And now I wear them in bed, so they were a great investment.

And then for nursing, the only one that works, I think, for the large norked is the Royce bra - John Lewis have it up to J cup, Bravissimo have larger sizes even than that. It's comfy, easy to use, comes in black. Also not a waste of money as I'm still wearing mine now!

Hope this helps and enjoy your pregnancy.

mistresstara · 11/07/2007 13:49

I'm wearing a Royce bra now and it looks like I'll be wearing the nursing ones too!

Anarchymummy · 12/07/2007 15:33

Thanks It's great knowing I'm not the only one with this problem (I was dreading the whole none underwired thing)

I'm going to check out M&S and take a quick trip to Manchester (nearest debenhams)and look at Bravissimo.

I just hope they don't get too big I'm only 5"1 lol!!
