I've made a post before, but decided to make a new one! Last week my hcg levels were 235 and they gave me an ultrasound because they assumed for me to be 5 weeks pregnant - my last period was February 10th but I might've ovulated late because they couldn't see anything on the ultrasound. They said maybe you're two weeks pregnant.

I got my blood tested yesterday and now I'm 2,000 hcg and they want to do an ultrasound. I'm not feeling any pregnancy symptoms like vomiting or nauseous.. just tired and very emotional. Is that a good sign? This is my first and I'm worried about anything going wrong like miscarriage or anything. Tips? Thoughts? Should I just accept everything will be ok?

1/8 pregnancy will end in a miscarriage. For most women it will be unexplained and most probably due to a random chromosomal abnormality. There is nothing that can be done to change that.

Normally they expect HGC to double every 24 to 48 hours. So it is currently looking good for your pregnancy.

Can I ask why they are measuring your hgc? Did you have some bleeding?

AmCanales · 26/03/2019 13:59

I believe they are measuring it because they put me at 5 weeks with my period and my levels were really low and I was having gas cramps? They said since they didn't see anything they don't know if it was a missed abortion or something else. So I got my blood done and now they want another sonogram.

I'm glad to hear their doubling, I hope everything goes well since I've been feeling great but no pregnancy symptoms for the past few days yet it's doubling so I believe that's good

Never any bleeding or anything though

It's pretty normal to not have symptoms until 7 or 8 weeks, some people don't have many at all. Early pregnancy is a worrying time, but there's not much that can be done to improve outcomes, it's just a waiting game, hoping everything is developing normally. Hopefully you'll get some good news at the scan x

They normally say beta hCG levels need to be above 1500 for them to see anything on USS; and, under 6 weeks it can be difficult to see anything on scan (even internal). I would accept the repeat scan as your hCG levels are rising in line with doubling every 48 hours so things do look as if they are developing on paper and, hopefully, they will see the pregnancy in the correct place

@Rememberallball do you know the chances of it being something bad with the level of hcg at 2000? Like the possibility

I don’t know the chances I’m afraid but the blood results are a positive sign thugs are going ok. I’m currently 12+5 and, as my pregnancy is an ivf one, I had bloods taken at 7 days embryo transfer (officially 3+6) and had a beta hCG level of 99; 6 days later they were 2,445 and another 2 days later they were 5,244. The high reading were indicative of twins - which has been confirmed by a viability scan at 6+6 where 2 fetal poles and heartbeats were detected.

You can only carry on with the bloods/scans as advised by your team!!
