Hi everyone

I'm 37+2 and had a bit of blood this morning when I went to the toilet. I'm panicking cause my husband is away with work for a couple of days and I can't get through to the triage.

Do you think this is normal? Sorry if it's completely normal never had any bleeding with DD1 so just freaking out!

I'm booked in for a csection next week.

Many thanks

Is it only when you wiped? Sorry if thats a bit personal 😂! I had a bloody show before labour with my 1st, and I thought it was scary but this can happen when labour is on the way (at least thats what I was told 😂)

Try not to freak out, but do keep calling the triage number. Was it bright red, fresh blood? How much?

Must be extra scary with your DH away Flowers

@Mummab3ar haha! Nothing is personal anymore Grinyeah just when I wiped and not huge amounts at all! Xxx

I had this, and it was just labour coming along, that being said definitely keep phoning triage. They will probably want to see you just to make sure everything is all good! Let us know how it goes 🤞💜

Desmondo2016 · 25/03/2019 08:27

If you need a csection for medical reasons I would get in asap. If it doesn't really matter I wouldn't be too panicked as long as baby moving ok!

Middlrm · 25/03/2019 08:30

I had that about 4 days before labour ( one tiny bit ) and then it was a fair bit more in labour ( I fully dilated in about 8 hours so it looked worse than it was ) good luck hope baby hold on for husband x x

Thanks lovely ladies @Mummab3ar @TableforJane @Desmondo2016 @Middlrm have got through and they said to come in so will let you know what they say xxx

Glad you’ve been told to go in, bleeding should always be checked out. How are you now?

Middlrm · 25/03/2019 11:54

How is it going? Are you all ok? 🤞x x

Mummab3ar · 25/03/2019 14:04

That's good OP, better to get things checked out. Let us know you and baby are okay 😘

katelily2017 · 25/03/2019 17:54

@Mummab3ar @TableforJane @Middlrm

Thanks ladieS! Have been in and all looks ok! Thanks so much for the advice!! Was so panicked this morning!

They were really thorough and checked everything and couldn't find any reason for the bleeding placenta and cord are all good, she said cervix is central and shortened and was having some mild contractions, they've booked me to come in for a sweep on Friday so we'll see what happens xxxx

Oh how exciting 😍! I had a sweep and that night had DS1 and then had another sweep and 3 days later had DS2! Hope all goes well for you!

TableforJane · 25/03/2019 18:59

Glad all is well! Hopefully it won’t be long until your little one is here Smile

Middlrm · 26/03/2019 19:12

How exciting!! Glad it’s all normal, I had the same as you on the Monday ... period pains but nothing crazy and by 4:30 am Friday I was in labour won’t be too surprised if you don’t need the sweep!! Keep us posted ... I hope the labour goes smoothly for you!

Those balls that you bounce on relieve loads of pressure , I used a maternity tens machine ( boots do them ) at home and that helped immensely ... i was lucky with a quick labour but with the help of those two items I literally was fully dilated by the time I got to the hospital ... so have a look into it and see what you think x x x
