Hello mad4girls, i relied on the old favourite "what to expect when you're expecting" - full of useful info for each month, not preachy, very helpful.
A nice wee book was "watch me grow!" by Professor Stuart Campbell, it has loads of 3-D womb pictures so you can see how baby is growing & developing week by week, amazing!
I also liked "secrets of the baby whisperer" by tracy hogg, only got it when ds was already a few weeks old but i liked her style and some of the tips were good. Failed at BF due to illness so can't help there i'm afraid.

watch me grow sounds lovely and dd's 7 and nearly 5 would love to see the pics

need to search that now

A very good non medical book is The Best Friend's guide to Pregnancy by Vicky Iovine - really tells it like it is! I loved it!

Mistymoo · 10/07/2007 22:57

Don't bother with a book - just use MN

If you do get a book don't feel obligated to follow everything it says. You may become quite anxious that you are not "doing it properly".

pollywollydoodle · 10/07/2007 23:08

another one for what to expect when you are expecting...a few bits of americanese though

TippiHedren · 10/07/2007 23:12

mad4girls · 10/07/2007 23:18

I love Baby Wisdom by Deborah Jackson - a lovely look at babies in different cultures. Also Eve's Wisdom by the same author, more about pregnancy and birth.

TooTicky · 10/07/2007 23:21

Never knew I really wanted kids - didn't really think aboput it - until I was pg with dd1. But they are kind of addictive

TooTicky · 10/07/2007 23:39

My dp has two other children as well - well, they're grown up now really. He doesn't see them much.
