Put this ^ in the conception chat originally but might be best to ask those who have already been successful .

I had IVF and the hospital recommended the clear blue digital (pink one, not purple) for the accuracy if that helps? Pricey but worth it and you get ten tests per pack

Thank you x

I used the clear blue connected one as part of a trial and got pregnant the first cycle using it Smile was just using the standard apps before that and the cheapie opks which were a day/2 out compared to the clear blue.

I used the cheap ones from amazon think they are called One Step and can get about 30 for £5. Worked very well for me and conceived on 2nd cycle with my son and first cycle with current pregnancy. They are nice and cheap so can use from early on in your cycle if you're not too sure when you ovulate.

I might try those first . Just read up on the CB Connect. £60 with no replacement sticks Shock
I saw the One Step sticks , will give them a go but I don’t rate their preg tests as i had multiple false positives

I also have no idea what’s going on with my cycles yet. Came off pill 22nd Feb and only just having AF/ withdrawal bleed now . Hence wanting to test for ovulation so early in TTC process

I buy in bulk one step and always been accurate (I also track my cycle so know when to test)

Oysterbabe · 22/03/2019 21:18

I used one step to help conceive my 2, they work fine.

cardboard33 · 23/03/2019 03:47

I used the ones from poundland and ones I got from babymad (I think) with my bbt thermometer from Amazon. They were completely fine and got the same results at the Clear Blue ones, as I was also given some of these from a friend. In the early days I also got some Boots own brand ones but gave up using them when I decided to test pretty much every day and realised the cost made no difference.

I'd highly recommend tracking your bbt if you're not already, this really helped me pin point ovulation in addition to opks as worked out I ovulated v late in comparison to my cycle length and would have been there forever if didn't have extra info to draw upon but as it was it took us about 3-4 cycles.

I used the ClearBlue dual hormone ones. The number of 'high fertility' days (oestrogen rise) would vary quite a bit before a 'peak fertility' result (LH), but with very long/irregular cycles I found it useful as a heads-up so I wouldn't miss ovulation. Took two years but I'm now 21 weeks pregnant! Judging by my invariably sore boobs two days after O, and now my dates from scans, they seemed to be very accurate. Good luck!

NannyPear · 23/03/2019 08:00

I had been using the cheap opks from Amazon but the cycle I fell pregnant I used the dual hormone CB ones for the first time. I'm not sure if that was coincidence or not, as I always got a clear positive with the strips, but I did find the CB easier to use. Expensive though if you need to use them a lot. I've heard of some people using them for a few months, finding a pattern then confirming with the cheap ones.

femalepresentingnipples · 23/03/2019 08:03

If the extra expense isn’t an issue for you then I’d recommend the clearblue pink ones. It just removes the problem of trying to work out if the test line is dark enough to be positive.

Hugtheduggee · 23/03/2019 08:30

Honestly, at this early stage I'd just try to carry on as normal but without contraception. Relax, spend time together, enjoy just having sex. If in 6-12 months you aren't pregnant, then maybe look into timing, but be careful going down the road of ovulation tests too early that you aren't turning sex into a chore.

I'm pregnant with my second, and have never taken an ovulation test.

Satsuma001 · 23/03/2019 08:33

I used CB digital and I'm so grateful that I did as my apps had my ovulation as having been and gone by the time I got the static face. Had been TTC for four cycles and now I'm sitting here with a BFP. Really helps if you're a little bit irregular!
