Good Maternity Bras?

Like the title says, can I get some recommendations for good maternity bras. I was measured by Mothercare on Tuesday and they upped my rib cage measurement by a size and reduced my cup size from an F/G (depending on the brand) to a DD.

The bras are also moulded cup and low at the centre. I’m finding they are riding up at the back (apparently a sign that they’re too big), I am not sitting comfortably in them - my breasts are falling to the middle and against each other as there is nothing separating them; and I end up ‘spilling out’ of them as well meaning I’m adjusting my position every couple of hours at a minimum. This is all after just 1 day wearing them. I got 2 packs of 2 bras and, frankly, want to return the unworn pack for a refund. They also gave me sleep bras to try and said I should have a medium - well, they’re ridiculously small, they sit covering no more than 1/2 my breast and I reckon I’d be falling out of it the minute I turn over in bed!! And they’re ridiculously expensive at £84 for 4 bras and 2 sleep bras that will probably end up on EBay!!

I can’t stay in my current bras as I’m finding it uncomfortable and feel I need maternity bras but, if everywhere is as bad as Mothercare, I don’t see the point in bothering.

Please help me ladies; I can’t go through another 24 or so weeks of pregnancy with twins in something so badly fitting.

I used M&S feeding bras for my first 2 pregnancies. They were not under wired so super comfy whilst still supportive. They were stretchy aswell so still fit if I went up a size. They were feeding bras but I wore them all through my pregnancy for comfort then as feeding bras when my boys were born. But you wouldn't need to use them as feeding bras if not intending to BF as it's only a little clip and not uncomfortable and doesn't get in the way at all. I Now need to go and buy more as got rid of them all as wasn't planning any more kids, currently sitting here at 15wks spilling out of my uncomfortable underwired bra.....Confused

So, I’ve just remembered to measure myself!!

I have come up with a back/rib cage measurement of 33 inches and my bust measurement is 40-41 inches. Using the linked blog from The Better Bra campaign I’m reading that I should try either a 32F/G or a 34F/G - so nowhere near the 38DD that the fitter at Mothercare said was right!!

Think I’m going to order a few bras online and see what I find is most comfortable!!

If you measure 33 then there's no way you should have a 38 back bra!

32 FF/G or 34 F/FF or others around that size

I would seriously take those bras back to mothercare and complain. They are unfit for purpose. Even if they won’t refund you could argue for store credit and use it for something else for baby.

They will be going back next week when DH has a job interview in Plymouth. I did think they were ridiculous!! I’m also going to have a look in M&S. unfortunately, Asda didn’t have any bras in my size that I would want to try when I looked online this evening (I’ve put together an order of bits and pieces!!)

M&S don't stock FF sizes for some reason so their G = FF

Bravado maternity bras are great, super comfy and supportive - I swear by them.

Have ordered some bras from John Lewis that will be delivered this coming week - including Freya, JL own and Royce. Will see how I get on with them as know I can return them if necessary. I was pleased to see they have quite a good selection of sizes and, if these ones are good, I’ll get some more later on. Still going to get measured by Bravissimo when I’m in Farnborough next month - as I’m likely to be needing more bras by then as will be 17-ish weeks!!

Have you tried the big department stores like house of Fraser, John Lewis etc? They tend to have a big range of sizes and brands so good for finding something that fits eventually.
I’m 28 weeks and also hate the non-wired bras. I have been wearing one of these and it’s super comfy

@Jess499427, our nearest HoF has a tiny lingerie department (though they were fantastic for shape wear before my cruise in December and I managed to get strapless Wonderbras there!!) nearest JL is Cribbs Causeway (Bristol) so not the easiest to get to. I’m hoping the ones I’ve ordered online fit and will be a start.
