Sharp pains early pregnancy (above pubic bone)

Hi everyone, I had a sharp pain yesterday just above my pubic bone when I sat down enough to make me say 'ooh what was that' then nothing else really for the rest of the day, then iv had it twice again this morning within an hour walking round, never had this with DD.
Had a bleed at 4 weeks, saw heartbeat at 5+3 and I am now 8+3.

My midwife said if I get any pain that paracetamol doesn't shift then ring EPU, even though it is quite painful and sharp its not constant so what do I do?

I'd call, it's probably nothing at all but it's best to check.

Give them a call but it could just be ligament pain due to hormonal changes.

This sounds exactly like ligament pain. It's quite intense and sharp, takes your breath away for a moment then is gone completely. But speak to your midwife if you are worried

You could have a separating pubic bone. It's very common but unusually so early into the pregnancy. If it is that, it will get worse and you will need to reduce movements, may need crutches at worst. But it all resolved once pregnancy is over.

I had similar sounding pains on and off throughout the day today. Phoned my GP who got me straight in (I'm 12+3) and he tested my urine for any signs of blood or infection for miscarriage and had a good feel about.
Ultimately he said it was all fine and it's probably a growing pain that's intensified as my baby is quite low, but reassure me I did the right thing by getting checked.

You and your baby are number 1 priority now - if you have concerns you need to get checked! Hope all is okay.
