25 weeks & a change in movements

I’ll be 25 weeks on Thursday and the baby’s movements have changed - I feel quite significantly. I’ve had real Duracell bunny nights but now it’s just the odd flip the last 2 nights. I’ve jumped up and down, shined a torch on my belly, husband is about to make me a coffee to see if that wakes him/her up but I’m still not feeling what I used to. I’m definitely planning on going to the hospital today, I guess I’m wondering if anyone else had this. I feel a bit sick right now. First pregnancy so zero experience.

By all means, go and get checked out if you're concerned.

DS did this several times between 22 and 30 weeks. Some nights he was an acrobat and then others, oddly silent. It seemed he was just switching positions and the placement of my placenta meant I couldn't feel him moving when he did. He's a healthy and happy 9 month old now.

Thank you @rtmhwales that’s really reassuring. I just felt we had so many nights of somersaults to then go oddly still, something feels off. I guess I’m worried that there is no routine but good to know you didn’t have this and all was well. Thanks for the advice

I had this around the same time as you - she would always be at the top of my stomach poking out but suddenly I was only feeling something way at the bottom and I didn't even know if it was her. I phoned and they told me to come in and they checked her heartbeat and everything was fine so yes, if you're concerned then definitley go get checked out as you will drive yourself mad.

Hi, I'm also 25 weeks and have been experiencing the same thing today. I've felt sporadic kicks and flutters at various times through the day but not the usual 'sessions' that he does for about 7-10 minutes. He could be having a chill day I suppose...

Don't worry, as the others said it's usually quite normal and not a cause for concern, as the position of baby and the placenta etc can cause you to feel less movements sometimes. BUT I would still call the midwife and tell her about the reduced movements so they can check baby's heartbeat. I've had to do this twice - once at about 20 something weeks and once on Sunday at 38+4. If baby isn't moving as much or as strongly as normal it's always best to get checked out asap. Chances are the baby is fine and at the very least, knowing baby is fine will stop you worrying.
