Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, nipple cream, toothbrush & paste (& for partner) wipes

Cotton wool
Bottles & formula (if BF doesn't go to plan)
Blanket & shawl type thing
4 x sleep suits
4 x vests
4 x muslins

2 x gloves
Car seat already in the car

If you need to stay in you will need more vests/babygrows for baby possibly and you may need more bottoms But if oh can’t grab more of them then that’s looks good.
I didn’t like cotton wool balls big faff water wipes are ok for newborns and 100 times easier if you can get some

Astrid0208 · 18/03/2019 16:49

A straw for the drinks will make it easier. I took an eyemask and it helped me sleep. My hospital had birthing balls, not sure about feeding pillows but there will be loads of normal ones around!

Astrid0208 · 18/03/2019 16:50

Yes water wipes are a good call!

WoodyOak · 18/03/2019 16:51

Eye mask? Hospital wards are bright. I couldn't have slept without mine.
Ear plugs. Wards are noisy!

Hospital should have birthing balls.

Good luck!

Scoutsrus · 18/03/2019 16:52

I would take another packet of pads in case you don’t get out right away and leak.

Scoutsrus · 18/03/2019 16:52

I would take just flip flops not slippers. You don’t need both.

whatthefoxsaid · 18/03/2019 16:54

My hospital had birthing balls and tens machine, I did take my own pillow and with hindsight I would've taken one of those inflatable doughnut ring things.
Possibly more clothes for baby but it could be an idea to pack an extra bag of spares and leave ut in the car or house so your partner can just grab it and bring it in.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/03/2019 16:54

Straws! Also, what are you planning on wearing for birth? I bought a cheap large sized nightdress to wear.

Hollowvictory · 18/03/2019 16:54

Ear plugs and eye mask in case you stay in

abcriskringle · 18/03/2019 16:55

Definitely another pack of maternity pads, you bleed quite a lot.

EvilHerbivore · 18/03/2019 16:56

If you're in 2/3 days you'll probably need another pack of maternity pads - tend to change every 2/3 hours for the first week or two
Also agree to getting some wipes - meconium is a bugger to get off with cotton wool, like trying to wipe off tar and the cotton wool then sticks to it...

WatchingTheWheels85 · 18/03/2019 16:59

Bibs!

Treaclesweet · 18/03/2019 17:00

I would take more pads & pants than that.

A small plastic jug for pouring water over your perenium (how do I spell that?!) whilst weeing. Saved my life.

I would add more snacks for after, like pot noodles etc especially for your partner. We ended up getting a dominoes delivered to the ward! Change for vending machines also.

SoupDragon · 18/03/2019 17:00

The softest toilet paper money can buy.

QforCucumber · 18/03/2019 17:00

our hospital allowed sensitive wipes - we used Aldi own ones - agree, so much better than cotton wool.

Pringles - all of the pringles! (I'd wake up in the night and eat a handful)

Give your DP a muslin cloth while you're in labour, mine was under orders to run it under a cold tap on demand - was amazing on my sweaty forehead as the mat wards are kept sooo warm.

SoupDragon · 18/03/2019 17:01

I would split it into two though - a labour bag and then another your partner can fetch from the car afterwards.

SoupDragon · 18/03/2019 17:03

I still gondky remember the time I got with just DS2 and a cup of tea whilst XH went to get the "after" bag. DS2 turned 18 this year :)

SoupDragon · 18/03/2019 17:03

Fondly.

Helga55 · 18/03/2019 17:11

Ok, so have some ear plugs some where & some water wipes. Good idea about splitting the bag & leaving some in the car. I'll take extra pants and another pack of pads & grab some straws, pot noodles & Pringles too 🙂

Was planning in staying in a bra & vest when giving birth, I generally prefer to be as little clothed as possible if hot Blush & suspect I shall probably end up naked or just in my bra

Thx ladies

I would not bother with the iPad or aromatherapy diffuser. You have a tiny locker that's it.
