Hello! First time here and I have a question! I am 37+1 today and after being told by the midwife last Monday that my monkey was yet to engage, she told me to bounce on the ball etc to help him get there.

She told me he was ROA and up until about 30 minutes ago (I believe) he was still there.

However, since doing my list of advised exercises, his movements now feel different...

He was up until just now very active and his movements very strong towards my left. Then I had all this shooting pain down into my ‘area’, a lot of aching and pressure at the front where you would get period pain and then what I can only describe as the feeling of breathing at the front between my pubic bone and bottom of bump. His movements have settled quite a lot now and I wonder where he’s just engaged and turned this ‘wearing himself out’?

I can still feel him moving they just seem different and less like he’s doing karate into my side!! This is my first, in case you hadn’t already guessed!

I have been having braxton hicks everyday since Tuesday last week plus a variety of aches and pains.

Just wondering whether any of you ladies could let me know if you have experienced anything similar whilst I’m waiting for my midwife to come back to me :) thank you :D

Sounds like ‘lightening’, when the baby descencds into your pelvis. They may have turned as well, so their back is against your tummy and arms and legs are onwards (towards your back), so movements are harder to feel. All sounds normal to me Smile if you’re worried, speak to your MW and keep track of movements.

Thank you ladies Smile

Turns out he has turned etc as you’ve both suggested. Whilst on the phone to midwife he proceeded to get hiccups and they low on my left and very strong!!! I’m so happy I can’t even find the words.

Glad all is well! Hopefully won’t be long until baby’s here.
