Hi,

I’m 17 weeks with my second and really struggling to sleep. When I do sleep I wake up constantly to get comfy.

I had a basic v pillow last time, but have now seen dream genii and others which look quite good, but I wondered what your experience was of these or others to help me choose.

Thanks.

I've just bought the dream genii and it's a god send! It was discounted in mothercare last week when I bought it! Smile

20 weeks and loving my dreamgenii!

I have the queen rose, it’s great!

Always recommend Theraline - it’s brilliant

Can highly recommend the Bbhugme - it's so good

I have a dream genii too which is good but I actually prefer using a folded over dressing gown!

Theraline

Hello, I’m 35 weeks pregnant and sleeping at night is now a nightmare.
I have three pillows that my friends have donated to me (you can google them all).
mothercare wedge pillow
Dorma Full Forever Bolster Medium-Support Pillow
Dream genie

I’m on my third pregnancy and had the first two in the first two pregnancies. I always really wanted a dream genie. This time someone has donated me one and I don’t love it at all! The big huge pillow one is much better in my opinion (dorma one). I got this a few days ago and love it. The cheese wedge one is also good. :)

daphine2004 · 18/03/2019 22:15

Thank you so much for your responses. I have thee wedge from last time and have been using that so far.

I am going to have a look at the other ones and get one ordered ASAP. I can’t survive in four hours sleep a night.

I've been disappointed with my dream genie to be honest but I am quite small so bump isn't pulling too much, and have been very lucky with just an achey hip to manage. So I might be being unfair on it but it's just getting in the way for me at the moment (26 weeks). I might be saying something different as I get bigger of course!

Kescilly · 20/03/2019 00:12

I was so excited for my Dream genii and found it really disappointing. I ended up shelling out for a bbhugme which has been great. I’d happily give the Dream Genii to someone here if you were my neighbour!

For those having hip pain, try getting a referral to physiotherapy (it’s self-referral here). Also try to make what my physiotherapist called a “pillow pocket,” where you have one pillow under your bump and another behind you, supporting and elevating everything but your hip. This gives your hip a pocket to rest in so there is not as much pressure on it.

I love the Babymoov Sleep Belt! Found this review on YouTube before buying it which is fab cos it shows you what it looks like/how it's used 👍

Llondbol · 12/04/2019 13:42

PS @Heyha - I thought Dream Genie was useless too! Cost a fortune and so much hype - glad to read someone else didn't get on with it 🙈

Heyha · 12/04/2019 14:41

Well at 30 weeks I have to say it's still not working for me 😂 I keep waking up on my back wrapped up in it so will be going shopping for something else over the Easter hols

Tobebythesea · 12/04/2019 15:36

I love my dream genii! I’m on my second pregnancy and wish I’d had it for the first. I think £45 is too much but to have sleep is priceless.

Heyha · 14/04/2019 21:30

I got a little wedge from Mothercare today, have tested it out with a (two hour) nap and definitely a lot better! But I haven't yet had any hip pain, it's just to support the bump, so may not work for everyone.

£10 though, happy with that
