Brown/pink mucus discharge 10 weeks

Hi all,

I am 10 weeks pregnant today, since Thursday night I have had some brown/pink mucus when I wipe and a little bit in my knickers. Called hospital and they said not to worry unless it turns to bright red fresh blood and then to call them back.

The consistency is like snot but either brown or light pink. I know brown means old blood but the pink stuff is worrying me a bit more. The EPU just said to wait for 12 week scan.

I did have something similar when I was pregnant with my 1 yr old at roughly the same stage so I wasn't too worries initially but it's going on longer and it's definitely heavier than it was last time.

Anybody experienced this and had a good outcome or does this sound like the start of the miscarriage process?

I’m the same.. these posts are reassuring I don’t have any red just browny sometimes there when wipe.. and backache.. 10 weeks! Why is pregnancy so scary??

It's terrifying! I'm so anxious atm which probably isn't helping. I've had it for just over a week now on and off so hoping it'll come to an end soon. Thank you both for replying, I'm glad there was someone still here.

I know this is an old post and hopefully someone will see this soon. My daughter will be 10 weeks on Thursday and it is her first pregnancy, she has been having, brown/red spotting some is with mucus and its not consistent, It has been going on for 5 days now, she had a ultrasound and heartbeat check and also had a pelvic exam done and was told that everything looked good. The doctor could still see the blood and where it was coming from and told her that it will continue until its all gone, She has high anxiety and it trying to not think it is still the beginning of something yet to come even thought she saw the doctor yesterday, she has her regular appointment in 3 weeks so she is just hoping that things do not get worse and that baby is still okay then. Has anyone experienced this and had a healthy baby afterward, I always think that bleeding is something bad, hoping it's not.

Hi, my bleeding lasted around 2-3 weeks. It was on and off, mucusy red and brown. My little boy is now 16 months old, perfectly healthy. I hope your daughter gets some reassurance soon 😊

That is reassuring, she doesnt have her next appt until march 13th, she will be 12 weeks 4 days then. It more frusterating then anything. Its been 6 days now and it alternates red and brown. Hopefully there is an end in site, it is reassuring knowing baby is fine otherwse and growing, will give another update in a few weeks

We went to the doctor last friday and had a heartbeat check done, it was 167, baby looked good, bleeding was almost completely gone over the weekend but is back today to red in color and has continued all day so far. Her next appr is in two weeks, just hoping that baby still stays okay and bleeding dies down or stops again. Its been a week and a few days now, just frusterating not to know if/when there is an end in site

That's so worrying for you all @twhit1992 though it doesn't sound that the doctors are too worried? I do hope it goes well.

Yeah, her ob is telling her it is normal and she has had a pelvic exam as well and her cervix is closed which is a good sign I guess? she says she is going to try not to overthink it as long as the bleeding stays how it has been or gets better, its definately easier said then done
