Everyone obsessed with 'one of each'

Feeling a bit annoyed after another comment along the lines of 'hopefully its a boy so you don't need to have anymore' (we have a DD)

I don't get the obsession with having to have a boy? Me and DH would be ecstatic with 2 DD's but apparently no one else will be! All of my family and his have said, I think you will have a boy, hopefully because it would be nice to buy for a boy ! There has been 3 boys in my family in the last 2 years 🤨🤨🤨

Do I just smile or do I say actually id be more than happy if I never had a boy, 2 girls would be perfect thanks 😁

I have one of each and people are always shocked when I say I would like another in the future, as we already have the 'perfect' family 🙄

Same.. so annoying people’s mentality

myotherbagisgucci · 18/03/2019 07:58

I have a DD1 and pregnant with DD2, and the amount of people who asked if I were disappointed it wasn't a boy was unreal. I also constantly get asked if we'll be having another to "try" for a boy! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nathansmommy1 · 18/03/2019 09:20

I have a boy and am am expecting my second boy now, everyone assumed I would want a girl bit I just told them straight out id rather have a second boy as I think it would be easier considering we already have a boy. There's more of a chance that they will have the same hobbies and do the same extra curricular activities and I can't wait for my ds to have a baby brother

Moonbea · 18/03/2019 10:02

My MIL is vile and one I had Ds and Dd she as telling me now you have the perfect family you can stop now. You don't need to have anymore because I cant afford to buy gifts for anymore grandchildren.

It's OK for her daughter to have 4 kids and keep popping them out every 2 years. She can afford those grandchildren. 🤦‍♀️

No matter what there will always be nasty inconsiderate comments. People just don't think

I have one of each

Dd first than ds

When I was pregnant with ds, I secretly hoped for another girl, but we didn’t. I was happy anyway.

Now we get the comments of “oh look. One of each. Now you don’t need anymore.”

As if that’s the reason we had a second Hmm

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 18/03/2019 10:51

Not much to add, but this also does my head in. We’ve had a few of these comments and it’s just madness. We were just very grateful to have healthy children and will w very grateful for any healthy children we may have in the future!

I was going to say the same as rememberallball expecting twins here (already have a DS) and people still say it would be great if it's one of each!

Lizbiz89 · 18/03/2019 13:22

Really annoys me as well. Have a dd and now pregnant with a boy and I hate telling people we're having a boy as we get stupid comments like "oh one of each so you don't need to have any more"! Well actually I always wanted 3 children regardless of sex!
