back pain

I already suffered from a back problem in my right hip area for which I see a chiropractor. I was fine as I was sleeping on my left hand side - I can't sleep on my right as it is too painful. Now I am getting the same problem in my left and it is impossible for me to sleep as every position is painful. I am only 26 weeks and can only imagine this will get worse. I feel so down about it and don't know what to do. It's 3am and I haven't had any sleep at all

Hi Stefka, could you maybe get an appointment with your chiropractor today maybe he can help you.
I had the same problem but not as bad as yours sounds, I've had a lower back complaint for a few years now and went to see my chiro he did some work and said to use a cold pack on and off throughout the day. It did help.

Also another MNetter suggested I try a bump pillow, I got mine from Mothercare, it is sooooooo comfy , and helps me to sleep in a really comfy position all night. Also it stops me from rolling on to my back in the night.

I hope your feeling better soon

xx

I didn't get to sleep until 6 am

Luckily I am not at work just now so I could sleep in the morning. I'm just up actually!

I have an appointment on the 20th but if I have another night like last night I am going to ask to bring it forward.

I will also look into that pillow - sounds good!

hi stefka, i too have problems when sleeping... my left pelvis is not moving as much as it should (found out through physio) and sometimes i could get horrible stabbing pains right on my left lower back, and it would even lock completely.

besides wearing a belt for long walks (that is 20 min at the moment, im 37 weeks), or when standing up for too long (when doing the dishes), i found the perfect position for my pillows:

www.dkimages.com/discover/Home/Health-and-Beauty/Pregnancy-and-Birth/Unassigned/Unassigned-05 6.html

if you look at her back leg, the one that is stretched, i make sure that that leg is actually facing the mattress, even more turned than the picture shows, this way i dont put any weight on my hip and pelvis.

i hope your situation improves!

Thanks for the pic - I will try that out tonight. I just want to sleep through the night! I don't get anything done in the day if I sleep through half of it and I hate lying in bed listening to my husband snore all night!

mine does too, these are the best earplugs you can find:

and sometimes even our dog snores, nightmare!!!

Thank you - I have been using ones from boots but they only take the edge of the noise. I have ordered those ones.
