Hi guys. Regular poster on here and a normal over thinker lol.

I'm 23 weeks pregnant, had HG in my first trimester and until 16 weeks. Still on tablets and lost a stone in first trimester and now have SPD. However, I am so so worried I'll have a big baby. No idea why!
I'm 5 foot 3, waist is normally quite petite and only now have I seemed to have popped enough for someone to maybe notice a bump. He's very low down so I know his position just might be hiding him!
I was 6lb 5oz and OH was 8lb something. I'm so worried he will be big. His head was 3mm bigger on the scan than the 'normal' 20 weeks My diets ok, I do love my chocolate, I eat my fruit and veg daily however. Any words of advise or a slap to get me out of it 😂 x

I'm 23 weeks pregnant as well and all everyone keeps telling me is how massive I am!! So god know what else is to come!
I was relatively slim before I fell pregnant ( size 10, 5'6 ) So it's pretty much all bump!
Any healthy eating is mostly out the window for me to be honest.

If they were concerned your baby would be big they will tell you but I'm sure you will be fine ! Women give birth to bigger babies all the time!
I'm preparing for all the pain relief!

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 12:40

@AKohler I was a size 8/10 because of my fat arse and big nunganuners 😂😂 but everywhere else I'm quite petite. I'm just eating what I did before but I'm just worrying more due to thinking ' what if I didn't make me fat yet will make him?! '

I just don't see how anything 8lbs plus will come out of me 😂😂

I'm 20 weeks and I've looked pregnant since January!! I was a size 6 with a flat stomach so even the bloating gave me what looked like a a baby bump.

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 12:47

@coral13 I just don't know why I'm so worried about it 😂 probably due to me liking my chocolate!

I was a 5ft4 size 10 with my first baby and he was born 8lb7 but didn't feel massive. My friend is 5ft4 and a size 8, she just had a 9lb7 and she said it was an easier birth than her 6lb13! X

katmarie · 15/03/2019 14:19

I'm 5ft 3, size 14, I was 6lb at birth and I had an 8lb 5oz baby. He was almost exactly the same weight as his dad was at birth! Having said that, the delivery was straightforward and recovery was relatively quick. I did have an epidural though which was amazing.

I was aware my baby was on track to be about 8lb from the measurements but I kind of compartmentalised it as one of those things I couldn't do much about.

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 14:24

@Babyno2mamabear @katmarie I just think because I'm used to small babies in my direct family. Biggest being myself at 6lb 5oz I sort of convinced myself I'd have one too. My mum had 2lb 12oz ( 11 weeks early ) 4lbz 2oz (4 weeks early ) and me being the above size! My sisters babies were all under 7lb and so were my brothers! Then when it was found out we were having a little boy I thought ' oh shit, he might take after his dad' 😂😂 x

I remained tiny throughout my first pregnancy (also lost a lot of weight first trimester due to HG) I didn’t even have a definite bump until around 30 weeks and had a massive baby!! 9oz 10!
This time I had a big bump early on but baby is measuring small (currently 38 weeks and feel like a whale) I think providing you stay in as good of health as possible the size of the baby is just pot luck.

troppibambini · 15/03/2019 14:46

Do you know what? It doesn't really make a difference.
I've had four babies one was huge 10lb8 I delivered him fine and it wasn't any different to my 7 pounders!

TerriB1984 · 15/03/2019 15:05

As others have said even if it is a big baby it doesn’t necessarily mean you will have problems with delivery. My little girl was 9lb 7oz and I managed to deliver her naturally with only a small tear (I’m 5’5 average build). I had a massive bump though and I went overdue by almost 2 weeks so a big baby was always on the cards. I have many friend who had harder deliveries (episiotomy, forceps etc) with much smaller babies.

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 15:28

Thank you ladies.

I just think I'm worried for no reason. I think the weights already decided and my body will get through it but mentally I'm just not prepared yet 😂😂😂

A 6lb baby hurts just as much as a 9lb one I reckon!!

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 15:59

@WhenZogateSuperworm I guess it'll hurt whatever 😂😂😂

My mum was a thin short woman weighing 7 stone and I was an 8 pound baby, bigger than my brother and a very easy delivery. I was born in 2 pushes without painkillers (no time, went too quickly) and no stitches needed.

Having a big baby can be fine. It doesn't necessarily mean that the birth will be harder for you.

Totaldogsbody · 15/03/2019 16:16

When I had my 1st daughter the doctor told me she was going to be a big baby. He said this each time I visited for antenatal, she was 7lb 4oz not big by any means but I was worried all the way through the pregnancy . Don't worry I'm sure you'll cope as others have said even if the baby is big the deliveries can be straight forward.

Delilah7 · 15/03/2019 16:34

Thank you @cranstonmanor @Totaldogsbody just trying to get my head round it. I'm not panicked about labour in general it's just how he's gonna get out of there 😂
