Nausea

Hi all, I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant, up to 6 weeks I had constant nausea throughout the day but wasn't actually sick which is horrible as I never got any relief. Luckily week 7 I felt fine just tired but now I'm physically being sick - struggling as I'm at work and can just smell cabbage which is making me worse. Work don't know yet so I'm having to act normal even when I'm rushing to the loo!

How did you all cope with this nausea? Any tips? Hoping it doesn't last too long - thanks Smile

It sucks doesn’t it! It will pass, I used to carry a food bag with me as I found I never knew when I was going to be sick because I was reaching all the time anyhow

It helps to try to eat little and often ( something) abd have fizzy appletizer ... or biscuits by your bed drink / eat a little before your feet hit the floor ( I was sick all day too but morning were guantred head in toilet time ) mine eased off at about 4 months 🤞 fingers crossed you get the sane ... if you can’t keep anything down see your doctor my cousin had it so bad she was dehydrated and fainted so she got tablets to help out ... it all becomes a distant memory when you finally get to hold your little one x x congratulations and good luck x

Your be surprised how much people won’t notice ... honestly even when my boss know I would be heaving and no one noticed ... even with my head down the loo people are wrapped up in their own worlds x

Ginger really helped me. Can you drink herbal tea at work? Congratulations

Congratulations @Holiday16 - lemon and ginger tea (twinnings) helps me a bit - I find it's stronger than other brands so can really get the ginger.

Have you heard of Gin Gins? It's a sweet that has ginger in it, and has a nice kick. I usually go for those when nausea gets worse.

Other snacks like dried fruit or carrots & hummus help too.

I feel your pain! I'm just coming out of the other side of it at 16 weeks and feel like I've won the lottery now the nausea has gone.

Somehow I survived at work in a care setting with lots of strong smells/bodily fluids and nobody noticed my sickness Hmm What I found helped, is eating little and often, fizzy drinks and mints! I constantly carried polos or soft mints with me just to keep me going, take that horrible metallic taste out of my mouth and sucking on one helped control the nausea a bit. Once I told everyone, they said it made sense why I was constantly sucking on mints Grin foxes glacier mints were a fave for me as they lasted a while.

Carbs also seemed to control the nausea a bit, I did also get some tablets from the dr but they didn't really help much, it will hopefully pass, not that it helps right now to hear that!

Hope you find something to relieve it soon OP
