PGP/SPD suddenly much better at 37 weeks should I worry?

The fact is I’ll worry anyway Grin but I can’t believe the improvement in just few days. I’ve spent the last three months on crutches and unable to move much, getting no sleep and finding it appallingly painful to move in bed or get out of it. And suddenly all that seems to have gone. I can walk relatively pain free and managed to get up in the night to go to the loo (many, many times..) without any helping out and dh having to help me. I’ve carried low and small the whole time though baby is measuring fine, but I’d say she’s probably dropped a little lower this week too, could that be it? I’m seeing my midwife today but she’s awful and really hasn’t taken my pain seriously. Emotionally this pregnancy has been very difficult, coming after a miscarriage that nearly lost me my life too through huge blood loss. I still can’t really accept that I’ll be bringing a baby home in a few weeks and I’m worried that the sudden loss of pain means somethings wrong. I know a lot of pgp is down to hormones so my worry is maybe those hormone levels have dropped and something’s wrong Sad My mum had my younger siblings at the same age I am now and I know her placentas had deteriorated badly at the time of delivery, is there any way they can check this to put my mind at rest?

It sounds like the baby has dropped OP and that has eased the pressure on your pelvis. The hormone relaxin continues to have an affect after birth so it’s unlikely to have dropped at this point. Is the baby moving as normal?

If you aren’t satisfied with your midwife appointment today, I suggest you call triage to get checked out.

^what the about poster said - could be baby dropping or other things relaxing/ moving that ease it (I had no pain until I developed piriformis syndrome at 38+5) but if you are at all concerned about movement pls call triage

Mine went completely during late pregnancy. I didn't get it in my second pg.

Mine also disappeared the further along I got - 36 weeks now and i can walk a lot better. However not for long as I think baby is engaging and she is pressing on my bladder.
