Did anyone have a scan at 6 weeks?

I've got an early scan tomorrow when I will be just 6w 2d. My GP has gone to a lot of trouble to arrange this appointment, which I'm having because of a previous late miscarriage and some slight spotting I've had this time. However, she has me down as almost 7 weeks, based on LMP date, even though I know I ovulated later and am therefore only 6+1 today. I've tried to change the appointment but just cannot get through (Kingston Hospital).

My question is, for those ladies who had early scans: am I really going to get any useful info at such an early stage? I'm aware that a heartbeat at this point is a bit hit and miss and I'm worried if there is not one, it will just stress me out more....arrgh! These first few weeks of pg are such a worry aren't they?

I would love to hear from anyone who had early scans and what, if anything, you were able to see?

Wavedancer ? hang on it there, I was told that at the early stages, it?s easy for the dates to be a week out, plus they are never overly re-assuring about these things just in case. Sorry you are in limbo but hoping and praying you get to the next scan and see more without anything in between

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and 7 weeks as a had spotting which they then at 20 weeks put down to low lying placenta. now have a crazy three year old! saw a braod bean shaped foetus and a little flashing heart beat, also yolk sac. try not to worry. mine were normal ultrasound not internal, that sounds not nice. good luck xxxxx

Wavedancer I feel for you right now - I have had 3 miscarriages and each was different in its own way but the feeling of 'oh my god am I going to have this baby or not' is the constant.

I know this is impossible but just try to think what will be will be and things will work out OK in the end, try to talk to your dh about how you feel and together you will be OK.

If it doesn;t work out you can take some time to feel sad then try again.

I have 3 great sons now but was pregnant 6 times altogether..good luck

wavedancer - my first scan was like your one and I thought I was further along. According to their scan I was about 4.3 weeks. Was actually 5+1 weeks. Had another at 7+1 (at the time they thought was 6+3 - saw heartbeat then) can attach the pics of the early ones to my profile if you want a look. Was very worried after first scan. Had heavy feeling etc. Apparanty that is normal though as uterus is heavy and growing. Also very difficult to date early on, better dating when around 12 weeks. Let me know if you want ot see pics xx

Hi ladies,

Hope your all doing great.
When did you have your booking app and how many weeks later is the dating app?

Thanks
