Another big baby on the way - worried!

Hi everyone :) I'm 36 weeks pregnant on Thursday with my 2nd baby, and I'm also having a growth scan and seeing my consultant that day.

With my first, my midwife referred me for a growth scan at 36 weeks as my fundal height dropped a bit which worried me a lot! At the growth scan, they told me that his head and femur were measuring 38 weeks, and his stomach 42, and was estimated to weight 7lb 8oz at that point :o so at that point the concerns were that he might end up being a bit TOO big! The consultant was also a bit concerned as in her words, my bump was 'all baby' and he felt like a baby elepahtn lol. Well he came a day before my due date measuring a chunky 9lb 4oz :) I was in labour for over 60 hours, and ended up having to have an emergency c-section as I couldn't get past 8cm, and his head was stuck in my pelvis!

I'm now 35+4 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby boy (but my 5th pregnancy after 3 losses in a row :( ), and I'm under the consultant due to my previous c-section and previous big baby. Since my midwife started measuring my bump at 24 weeks (I think?), I've been constantly measuring 3-4 weeks over, and she's been commenting again that I'm 'all baby'! I got sent for a GTT to make sure I didn't have Gestional Diabetes and it came back negative (also had one in my 1st pregnancy and was negative), so that was good. I saw my consultant at 33 weeks and she measured me and booekd me a growth scan for when I'm 36 weeks (2 days from now), and she seemed a bit concerned and said it's very likely he's going to be large again! If the scan comes back showing he's big again, she thinks I should book an elective C section at 39 weeks.

I really wanted to try for a VBAC to be honest, but the torture of 60 hours in labour with his head stuck was awful, and it ended up affecting my boy and he had to be in the neonatal unit for a few days. I'm holding out a little hope he might not be as big as they expect, but seeing as I was measuring under at one point in my previous pregnancy and in this one I'm measuring over I think the chances are he'll be even bigger than my first was at that point! What I find crazy as well is that for weeks now he's been poking limbs out of my skin which looks both scary and amazing lol, but my previous baby boy only did this towards the last week or two. Does this even mean anything though? He doesn't really 'kick' any more, he just likes to poke his limbs and his bum out from time to time!

So I'm just wondering if anyone has any experiences in something like this and what happened for them. What I'd love to do is go into labour at 37 weeks - nice and early where he shouldn't be too big, but not too early that it'll cause him problems. Would I be stupid to try to go into labour then? I mean like the (probably rubbish) old wives tales of eating a hot curry, pineapple, hot baths etc.

My baby was 9lb 10oz born. By C-section. Community midwife who saw me back at home commented this was probably safest for both me and her.
I doubt you'll be able to go into labour before your baby is good and ready to come out.
Talk to your midwife about your options. Some women are able to birth big babies ok, but given your previous experience I'd want to know what was safest for me and baby.

my second child was 9lb7oz and caused damage when being born naturally, so much that I was desperate for a c section with my 3rd. However this is wasn't advised for many different reasons and I worried endlessly, to the point I actually drove myself mad. My Daughter was born a week early weighing 11lb ! NATURALLY. but no tears whatsoever and a very quick birth!
