Hello! I’m currently 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant! I got my blood results back and my baby girl is RH negative just like me. My question is though (and I don’t want to go into too much detail) but if I’m RH negative and so is my baby is it possible for the father to be RH positive?

Thank you.

Yes, unless he's also had a blood test and knows he carries two dominant alleles (D = dominant, d = recessive).

You: dd (the only way you can be Rh negative)
Him: Dd or DD

If he is Dd and passed the d onto your child (50% chance), then your child will be Rhesus negative.

Hope that helps!

Yes definitely possible. I’m RH neg and so is our first born but current pregnancy baby is RH positive.
