Hi everyone,

I'm 32 weeks pregnant, nesting, and today have painted some of our hallway with white Dulux paint. I wore a mask the whole time and had the windows and front door open.

However, it occurred to me as I was finishing that I was using a different paint to when I did the nursery and had read last time to check levels of VOC, last time they were low, this time unfortunately they were high Blush

Feeling stupid and panicking as I have overlooked something important and would never ever want to put my baby at risk. Please can someone help to reassure me?

You'll be fine, unless you had a drink of it. In which case, silly you. Grin in all seriousness, if well ventilated and not painting for hours on end for multiple days, there's extremely little to no risk

Oh shit I need to know as well, I am 14 weeks and was painting last weekend with Macpherson emulsion paint. Can’t find anything on VOC level except: This product contains max. 1 g/l VOC

I painted the hall at about 14 weeks. No harm done, and no mask or open windows/doors as it was raining and I wanted to hear the radio.

Ventilation and I would even have an air purifier running for a while before the baby is born. It's becoming increasingly clear the detrimental effects of many man made toxic materials on people.
I think the one off is fine, but for myself I wouldn't use these brands.

The NHS page on this is reassuring:

You’re 32 weeks so well beyond your first trimester, you wore a mask, you kept the place well-ventilated. I’d say it’s fine.
