Anterior placenta and no movement

Currently 27+3, haven’t felt baby move properly since Sunday and only the occasional kick since. Been in for monitoring three times and had an ultrasound, all of which have shown baby to be wiggling a bit and healthy.

I have been told to keep calling the antenatal department and go in for monitoring each day that goes by that I don’t feel baby move. I guess for reassurance.

I have an anterior placenta which explains why movement could be cushioned but does this explain why I feel nothing at all? Those of you who have had anterior placenta, did you experience anything like this?

I’m a very anxious person anyway and this isn’t helping Sad

I'm 34 weeks and have anterior placenta and I've been in a few times with this but generally I do feel quite a lot of movements just the occasional day where she isn't too active and I panic.

I'm a FTM so I don't know too much about it but my advice would be to take advantage of the hospital offering you monitoring, you'll never regret getting checked too much.

I do feel for you though it's so stressful and scary. Xxx

Thank you for replying.

It is worrying isn’t it. When did you start feeling more definite movement?

Yet again, felt not even a tap today so back in for monitoring this evening.

I started feeling definite movement around 24 weeks, every day I wake up and lie in bed worrying that I haven't felt her and then I go downstairs and have breakfast and more often than not I start to feel something, on the days I don't I have had to go in.

I really feel for you to be honest, the hospital waiting times can be awful and it's so unsettling until you get the heartbeat! Fingers crossed we don't have anterior placenta in future pregnancies (should we have any more children!).

Let me know how tonight goes please, I'll be thinking of you and your LO ❤️

I’m 28 weeks and I had one day like that, maybe slightly less than a month ago. I have an anterior placenta but up until that day I was feeling regular movements. I felt some in the morning, then nothing all day. We ended up going in close to midnight.

Baby’s heartbeat was fine but I didn’t feel her move again until the next morning. And then she was very active all the next day!

It’s still strange to me that I felt absolutely nothing all day. Not reduced movements, no movements.

I’m glad that you are continuing to go in. I hope your baby stops scaring you soon, it’s so stressful!

I was pregnant 5 years ago now but I would honestly hardly feel my baby move at all.

I don't know if I had anterior placenta or not I didn't realise this was a possibility till after I'd had her. But not everybody's baby moves a lot

I only had my first movement at 24 weeks but was feeling definite movements every day up until this last week. Nothing now, not even light taps. Such a worry.

I went in last night and baby was wiggling around happily although there was a scary moment when they couldn’t track the heartbeat and the midwife started shouting for a doctor. She came in with a scanner and there baby was, squirming away.

Thanks everyone.
