I'm having really sharp pain under my bump and above my pubic hair line. It is causing me a lot of distress and it's making it really hard for me to walk and to sit in certain positions, I am only comfortable when I'm lying down. The mw has found protein and white blood cells in my urine, could it be a urinary infection?? Has anyone experienced this or know what it could be? Thank you!!!

Not sure if I had the same thing - it was 2 weeks before I was due with ds3, again very sharp pains under bump rather like a stitch but much much worse. It was the middle of the night and my midwife couldn't get to me for about an hour, I was crying with the pain and was advised to take painkillers (we didn't have any and I ended up taking calpol!). By the time the midwife arrived the pain wasn't as intense and over the next 2 hours it completely subsided and I didn't go into labour. She thought it could have been a sprain or a twisted muscle it didn't appear again and all went well.
Don't know if this is helpful but if any doubt contact midwife out of hours - that's what they are there for
Is it your first?

Oh good frances123 - fingers crossed for you.
Another thought is that do you have to wee lots in the night? if you do, it could be the baby's head pressing on your bladder. All 3 of mine did this to me! I would wee a tiny bit then as soon as I got back into bed I would feel a painful need to wee again and this would go on most of the night. I later found out that excessive weeing is sometimes due to excessive standing during the day and its rather like a the baby is the equivalent of a loose cork in a upside down bottle - so as you go to sit down, very little wee comes out as the baby sort of traps it.
So there is another possibility but I'm sure your midwife will be able to pinpoint whats happening.
