So I had my 20 week scan today and baby is average for everything (50th percentile) but then 97th for belly!! What is that about!

We had the same through the whole pregnancy, little boy came out perfect (no chubby belly in sight) take with a punch of salt I’d say

Same as the PP, mine was measuring over the top centile line for ages and they estimated a 10lbs+ baby. He was born at 38+4 at 7lb 12, a very average weight! So much scaremongering beforehand about him getting stuck etc though Hmm

I'm really struggling to appreciate how much accuracy there is in the measurements made during scans/growth scans. Our baby is 20-50 percentile for most things and then below 10 for abdomen. I am worried but doctors say as long as baby continues to grow at the same pace it's OK. Neither of my two doctors seem unduly concerned so I am having to trust them at this stage - although we are doing the growth scans every 2 weeks now. I guess I would say the same to you. If the doctor seems OK with the measurements then I think you just have to try and just get on with it.

My baby measured small the whole way thtough, and at his 20 week scan they raised concerns that his legs were measuring in the 2nd centile (a marker for downs and dwarfism). They just kept watch, but when he was born he had average sized legs, and was an average sized baby.
Take these concerns with a grain of salt.

@PRoseLegend thanks for sharing. It is worrying but I just think baby is probably just on the small side. I was lower weight at birth with a smallish abdomen (all arms and legs) so maybe baby will be like I was.

Yeah they told me dd1 could be nearly 11lbs and gave me a CS because they were worried that torso would get stuck (not head). She was 8lb 6oz and a perfectly ordinary shape.

My DS4’s stomach measurements were estimated to be very large (measuring at 43 weeks on the scan at 34 weeks). They estimated that he was almost 8lb at 34 weeks. I was given a CS partially because he was so large. He was 7lb 6 at almost 38 weeks Confused

One of my twins had this. Beeeeg tummy and beeeeg head measurements all the way through. I tortured myself with catastrogoogling and fretted constantly and.... it turns out he just has a big head and a big tummy. 😄 Everything else was normal. He was 7lbs 12 when born by elective section at 37+ 5. His twin was 6lbs 3 so he was a bit of a chunk by comparison.
It's not hugely noticeable now he's nearly 3 - I'm told he's very handsome ☺️
