Reduced movements... How to stop worrying so much?

I know that I'm still early on for regular consistent movements, but I started feeling flutters at 17 weeks, and definite movement from 18 weeks. DH even felt kicks from outside at 18 weeks. Of course I've had movement on and off, some days more than others etc...

I'm 21w + 4 now, and I feel like I haven't felt any definite movement in a few days now. I know it's still too early for me to be feeling baby consistently, but I'm still worrying that it's been a few days. My question isn't should I be worried, but how do I make myself stop worrying about it at this stage?

I would ask the midwife that question to be honest, I don't think anyone should ever reassure a mum to be that she shouldn't worry about reduced movement.

Thanks @MyKingdomForBrie, I just know that everything online says not to worry about not having felt movement until at least 24 weeks.

You're right and I'm totally sure it'll be fine for you but i would still call the midwife to hear her say it - that would be the thing that would reassure me and make me stop worrying about it!

I phoned at 23 weeks for similar and while triage didn't want to see me particularly they did organise for me to have a quick check at the antenatal clinic, just a heartbeat listen and they were quite happy to do it. Always worth a phone call I think!

Sorry that you’re feeling worried - I’ve been there so can definitely empathise.

I agree with PP...you need to speak to your / a midwife, whether that be for verbal reassurance or getting you in to the hospital for checks to put your mind at rest.

Good luck xxx

I was seen at 22 weeks with reduced movements because I had definite movements from about 18 weeks. I phoned the hospital and they told me to come in. All they did was listen to the heartbeat, check my BP and urine. It was very reassuring just to have that done and everything was fine

Thank you all, I actually ended up feeling some definite kicks and movement last night. I think baby has just moved to a different position that's all, as I'm feeling kicks in different places than I was before. If it happens again, I will definitely check in with midwife! Thank you again!
