Left side early pregnancy - arcuate uterus - need reassurance!

Hi ladies,

Because of several previous miscarriages my private doctor offered a 5 week reassurance scan (to also check it's not ectopic) today.

The sonographer found the sac in my uterus with what looked like healthy blood flow, but she kept commenting that it was quite far into the left corner. I have an arcuate shaped uterus (bow shaped). The sonographer seemed to want me back in two weeks for a follow on check. She did say everything was fine but I felt like she may have been withholding something. I'm not sure if this is me being irrational because of previous miscarriages but I'm usually quite good at reading people.

I've read (google bad) that implantation on the top left and top right can be a sign of interstitial pregnancies, where implantation occurs in uterus but it happens over the Fallopian tube, and so is classed as a type of ectopic pregnancy.

Are there ladies out there with successful Leftie or Rightie implantations? Need some happy stories please. Xx

It’s called an Angular pregnancy. It’s happeninf to me now - unfortunately mine is not growing so I am waiting to miacarry but I don’t think it’s related to it being angular. Do you have a report from the ultrasound? It should say on there if it is in the uterus. From researching the internet there isn’t a whole lot about it online but I have seen it quite often moved further down as the baby grows. The placenta stays in place but that seems to be ok. Best of luck to you!

@Holly19 so sorry to hear the sad news and thank you for giving me the correct name for it. I've just been given progesterone supplements and am taking 75mg aspirin daily too... will keep you posted on my outcome. Best of luck with next time X

I have a unicornuate uterus so a different abnormality but just wanted to pop by to give you some hope. They reckoned I'd never carry full term and I did - twice! Good luck OP!

Bambii

Do you mind sharing what happened? 6 weeks and was just diagnosed with an angular pregnancy. Will have to wait another week to go back and see what will come of it. Hoping your pregnancy went well. Xo

@Shraygreen I'm sorry to say I miscarried, though for unrelated reasons, it wasn't that in the end - NHS doctors can't figure out why I keep miscarrying, just went to see Dr.Shehata as this was miscarriage number 3. He had prescribed me 400mg Hydroxychloroquine, 75mg aspirin and progesterone. Xx
