Confusion about waters breaking.

I was induced at 41+6 with my son, when they examined me before induction started they asked when my waters had broken. I replied saying that they hadn't (to my knowledge). They asked if I had been leaking etc and I said no, no need for pads or anything. I had 3 people check that my waters had gone (so dignified!) And they definitely had....

Anyway now 31 weeks and starting to think about labour and sat here thinking...why did I not get an answer as to where my waters went last time?! Has this happened to anyone else and do you think it could happen again? I just worry about the risk of infection to baby if waters were to go again in the future without me knowing (which is really weird!)

Ps, I don't expect some big popping bang of waters like in the films, but thought I'd experience something at least.

You could have lost them in the bath or anything and not noticed! Just mention it to your consultant when your up again they should be able to ease your mind and keep an eye! Oh and by the way you could just experience it like the movies cause I did and let's just say I was not prepared lol!

This happened to me! I went in to labour at 39+6. When examined on arrival at the hospital they said I was 10cm and asked when my waters had gone. Like you, I didn’t know they had!
However I had been on and off the toilet all night Blush thinking I was constipated when in fact i was having labour pains so can only assume that they were leaking a bit every time I sat down? Who knows. Was a bit of a mystery!
Second time round (2 weeks ago) my waters went in active labour and there was absolutely no doubting that’s what they were! Saying that, my bump (and baby) were huge second time round so wonder if I just had a lot more water this time.

Sorry, this post is no help really but offering solidarity!

Both replies have been helpful and I appreciate the solidarity ha!!

I think the bath could be a good shout! I'd say I spent at least 50% of my time in the bath during the last couple of weeks!

Although after both your comments I am now expecting the full works this time 😂

Mine went while on the loo first time round, so I was a bit confused/second guessing myself at first. Became obvious it was waters when they just kept leaking every time I moved.

In my antenatal class, the midwife told us that if the waters pop at the top then it's usually just a trickle which I guess some women could miss. If they pop at the bottom then it's when they gush.
Mine popped at the bottom and there was absolutely no mistaking it but my Mum was in the bath when hers went with my brother and she had no idea!

I heard mine pop when I was sat on the sofa!
