Period pain in early pregnancy

By my calculations I should be 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I took a clear blue digital test a few days ago which said 2-3 and one today said 2-3 too, I know the weeks indicators aren’t accurate so I’m trying not to be concerned that it doesn’t say 3+ yet.

This is my second baby I have a 3 year old and I remember my first symptom being period pain as I was convinced I was coming on my period which never came.

I’ve got the same this time, period pain and really sore boobs. I think I’m just looking for reassurance that period pain is normal. Even though I’ve experienced it before I feel like I still need the reassurance as I’d forgotten how nerve wracking the first few weeks are. I’m constantly running to the toilet in case I’m bleeding. I’ve booked an early reassurance scan for the end of the month to ease my mind. I thought I’d be a lot more relaxed with my second pregnancy but apparently not!

Hi,

We asked a midwife to go over some of the early signs of pregnancy - period like pains feature quite a few times.

The video is here

Hope it helps!
