4 weeks pregnant after 3 recurrent miscarriages (7 and 9 wks)

Hi,

Just found out unexpectedly that I'm exactly 4 weeks pregnant and I'm happy but so nervous because I've had repeated heartbreak and complications with three silent miscarriages over the past year and a half... complete with d&cs that had to be repeated a week later as they "missed bits" and repeat pelvic inflammatory infections.

I'm also worried because, as a result of a rough 2018 and hormones all over the place, my BMI has crept up to 31.

The gynaecologist at the recurrent miscarriage clinic did several tests and couldn't find a cause, so gave up.

I've decided to take 75mg aspirin as I've read this helps with clotting that can harm delicate baby veins and also reduces risk of pre-eclampsia (at higher risk if overweight).

Anyone else been through similar? Are you on 75 mg aspirin? Need some reassurance and experienced advice please!

@bambii

Yeah the nausea is bad.

I worry about the Diarrhoea but I have read it’s a symptom it can either be constipation or diarrhoea. Will call dr today to see if I can actually take anything for it

Bambii · 05/03/2019 08:12

@lily2403 I read online that it can be the pregnancy meds - magnesium and vitamin c can cause serious diarrhea! My diarrhea seems to have subsided today. Hubby has bought me pregacare original instead of the max stuff (I'm online 5 1" so maybe I didn't need something that strong)!

I've also since read that some women do get diarrhea in early pregnancy. One lady had it with all 4 pregnancies!

Let us know what doctor says! xx

Hi ladies,

Quick update, have been prescribed cyclogest 400mg morning and night and told to continue 75mg aspirin by my gynaecologist.

I also had a 5 week reassurance scan to check it's not ectopic and was so relieved to hear implantation has occurred in left side of uterus.

Anyone else have baby in left or right side of uterus? Does location matter? x

That’s great news ❤️

I can’t even get the Midwife’s to call me back with a booking in appointment. I’m taking the aspirin and hoping for the best

Hopefulforourrainbow · 06/03/2019 13:35

Great news! Location doesn't matter

Loukate29 · 06/03/2019 13:59

Sorry I can't help but I'm also 4 weeks just wanted to say congrats. Xx

Loukate29 · 06/03/2019 14:00

I also had a m/c April last year so trying to be hopeful! What will be will be! X

Bambii · 08/03/2019 14:23

@kdd1980 how are you doing? I took your advice and am on cyclogest as well as baby aspirin now! Fingers crossed. Xx

@Bambii that's great I'm pleased to hear it. What dose did the doctor put you on?

I'm ok. Can't seem to shake off the panic that something might go wrong again. I'm thinking of going to see the doctor about it as I've never felt this anxious in my life and I'm worried about my mental health a bit!

I have another scan on the 18th, I'm hoping that might help

Bambii · 08/03/2019 17:11

@kdd1980 oh I feel the same way! I keep catching myself reading studies and articles online about similar cases to us and I can't stop worrying that just when I start to relax something will happen. I know stress isn't healthy but reading about it seems to calm me. I think I need a new hobby!

My gynaecologist put me on 400 cyclogest and 75mg aspirin daily. Xx

How is everybody? X

Bambii · 12/03/2019 20:08

Ok so far! Mild nausea has kicked in, mostly in the mornings or when I'm hungry. I'm taking that as a good sign! I'm religiously continuing aspirin and progesterone and hoping it will make the difference.

We have a 6 week and 2 day scan on Friday morning and that will be a moment of truth.

How are you doing @lily2403? Xx

@bambii

Glad you ok the nausea is good and bad. Hope all goes well on fri for you Flowers

5 weeks today. A bit of nausea and no appetite. I’m not being booked in until I’m 8 weeks. Then I believe I have to wait until 12 weeks for the scan

I’m keeping everything crossed and taking aspirin. Trying to relax and not read into every niggle

Bambii · 12/03/2019 21:09

Glad you're on the aspirin and doing well @lily2403! I read Aspirin with dinner is best. Sorry you've lost your appetite.. Drink plenty of water and try small snacks if you can. I called the Early Pregnancy Unit directly to book in the early scan but I am sure 8 weeks will come round in no time. Xx

Hi ladies,

It's been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster day. The sonographer stayed quiet for a very long time and didn't share her screen, then told us the gestational sac is an abnormal shape and there is a slow heart beat. She estimated heart beat is 100 beats per minute. CRL is 3.3 mm. The average is 4mm in week six, so not that off.

I'm 6 weeks 1 day and when I googled heartbeat in 6th week it says 90 to 110 is normal so I'm confused! I'm also so worried about the abnormal gestational sac shape she mentioned. It's 29mm by 17 mm by 16 mm! I've read sometimes they can correct themselves... anyone else had this?

She said the pregnancy is viable but I need to come back for another scan next week.

I came home, couldn't eat or drink because I felt so nauseous, had a big cry and feel a little better.

How are you all doing? Sending positive vibes your way.

@bambii
Sounds like it was an emotional day.
I have never had this but by what you are saying it sounds positive to me. Heartbeat ok not far off the measurement and like you say it can sort itself out. I would put feet up and try and relax and stay positive, I know this is easier said than done.

I’m sending lots of positivity your way ❤️

Bambii · 20/03/2019 13:56

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to update everyone, I had a sudden bleed on Monday which then stopped and then followed up with a scan today. The gestational sac is now hour glass shaped, so much so they thought there were two. The poor little bean has grown to 8mm and there looked like a flicker of a heart beat but it was right in the narrow part of the hour glass, it was hard to tell for sure.

Doctors have said it looks like the gestational sac is collapsing and I should prepare for miscarriage. They've said I can stop taking progesterone and that will speed things up a bit.

Yesterday was my 35th birthday, feeling so inadequate and old now. I feel like a burden on my dear husband as this keeps happening. He is very loving and keeps saying it's both of us and I shouldn't feel like this, and that it's the most us thing possible, but I'm sure you'll understand it's difficult not to feel this way.

Hope you are all having better luck

@bambii

Please don’t think about your age. We have been struggling (I’m 44 next week) we are lucky that we have one already so I know we are lucky. I was 42 when I had my son. We have had 3 mc since then and now we are hoping for this one to come to term. I just wanted to say please don’t punish yourself.
