Hi,
This is my first pregnancy and I've not felt flutters yet. I am 19 weeks. I know with your first it can be later but I am a bit worried. Is there a certain type of body shape or weight that determines when you feel them? Like tall, short, overweight, underweight?

I think it’s more to do with where your placenta is- I’ve had 2 pregnancies with anterior placentas and haven’t felt anything until gone 20 weeks each time. I am tall though with quite broad hips (although not overweight) so maybe my babies have just had a lot of space!

I didn't feel a thing until I was 24/25 weeks. This is my first baby. Do you have an anterior placenta? I do and that can sometimes make it harder to feel movements.

That's not unusual.. it'll come..

Seconding the posters above...my dd had an anterior placenta and I didn’t feel a thing till the night before my 20 week scan. I’m sure you’ll feel something soon, but do call your midwife if you’re concerned. X

As PP have said it is definitely placenta position. I’m short and overweight and felt mine from 14 weeks, I have an posterior placenta. my super tall slim friend didn’t feel anything until she was 24 weeks due to anterior placenta and she was having twins!!

Hope you start feeling movement soon, it is definitely more reassuring when you can feel them. I’m 35 weeks now and it still amazes me that I can see him wriggling around!! X

I'm on my third baby and I didn't feel anything til 18 weeks with a posterior placenta
