Prawns in pregnancy

Hi ladies, I ate some prawns this evening - I was with a friend and forgot to ask that they be properly cooked (over cooked). When they arrived, they and were pink but not overly pink and the texture wasn't chewy. They were hot when they arrived and I ate a number of them - but now I'm worried that they may not have been cooked enough?? If the prawns don't make me ill can I assume that everything is ok and the baby will be fine? I'm 18 weeks pregnant. And if I do get ill is there a risk that it will cause harm to the baby? :-( thanks in advance

No problem with cooked prawns and you'd probably know by now if they were going to make you poorly by not being cooked properly (assuming you didn't eat late).
I and almost everyone else on here always say go by the NHS website guidance but I did have to post on here about prawns as my midwife had said no to cold, cooked prawns- contrary to the NHS advice. So I stuck with the website, had prawn cocktail at home at Christmas, all seems fine, 23 weeks and two good scans.
So unless you are poorly overnight OP then I wouldn't give it a second thought. Bad prawns will make you feel dreadful so little chance of you mixing it up with morning sickness too so if you're ok in the morning, all good.

They wouldn't serve uncooked prawns as that is dangerous for everyone - not just the immunocompromised. Prawns in pregnancy are fine.

I got really confused about prawns in pregnancy because lots of people say you can’t have them - but the NHS website is very clear about them, you can have them as long as they’re cooked through, and that includes cold pre-cooked prawns.

As PP have said, a dodgy undercooked prawn would make anyone (pregnant or not) very ill, so I think as long as you haven’t fallen ill you’ll be fine!

Prawns arent a problem in themselves it's just the food poisoning risk if they are undercooked.. the same as with any meat. So I think you will most likely be fine! Even if you get food poisoning the likelihood of it being severe enough to cause any issue with your pregnancy is extremely small.
