Anyone got a bicornuate uterus and willing to share their experiences.
I know it depends on the severity of the septum. I'm not just looking for stories to make me feel better, I've had some bad experiences already I'm more curious if you can have good and bad outcomes really.

Hi OP, I had a septate uterus, which was successfully removed after having a Hysteroscopic metroplasty. I decided to have this surgery as I had suffered two MMC's, one at 11 weeks and another a 5 weeks.

I have now had two successful pregnancies. Although I've read a lot of positive stories online from those that have gone full term without any medical intervention.

Xx

My mum had a septate uterus I believe. She had 6 live birth's and 6 mc's / still births(I believe a still birth was my twin, not sure if it was the only one) and only one of those births were breach resulting in c sec.

I have a slight bicornerate uterus, this was only found when going through an ecv to flip my first born!
It was suspected that this uterus abnormality was the reason she didn't flip. Had no other issues relating to shape of uterus with her.
I have had two early miscarriages but again, I believe this wasn't to do with the shape of my uterus.
Now pregnant with my second and this one is head down and has been since day x.
Again, no issues due to uterus shape.

What severity do you have op?

I have a bicornate uterus. I carried my son to 36 weeks when he was born by emergency section after my waters went and he was transverse lie. I then went on the have 5 miscarriages all between 6 and 10 weeks and i lost my son at 23 weeks. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and he’s been transverse or breech the whole time.

Do you know the severity of your abnormality?

Thanks for your replies and I'm so sorry for your losses.
I've had a detailed ultrasound and it was quite severe but haven't had a hysteroscopy.

I've had one mmc at 9 and a half weeks. One blighted ovum discovered at 10 weeks. Both my babies have been breech and premature. One 24 weeker, spontaneous labour and one 31 one weeker c section due to IUGR and oligohydramnios.

I'm trying to figure out if I have even the slightest chance of ever getting anywhere close to term or if I'm likely to have the same or even worse.

@Beyondhope Has which horn the babies have settled in made a difference to your pregnancies do you know?

Juniper have you spoken to someone about cervical incompetency. I was told that this often goes hand in hand with a bicornate uterus.

For me it didn’t seem to matter which horn the pregnancy was in. Although I was told by the recurrent miscarriage clinic that where it implants makes a difference.

JuniperNarni · 26/02/2019 14:02

Both my miscarriages have taken a long time to come out after being discovered and my 24 weeker took a very very long time of contractions (and the hospital ignoring me because my cervix was at first closed) before he was born.
With my second child I had my cervix scanned every fortnight from 12 weeks and was given progesterone. But my cervix luckily hasn't been an issue up to this point.

My 24 weeker was in the right horn, my 31 weeker, although stopped growing wasn't evicted from my womb as such and was in the left so I'm worried a pregnancy in the right again could potentially go in to very early labour again.
