MC - advice needed on using pills to spead up the process

Hi everyone. I was wondering if there is someone out there that has an experience with the tablets that are supposed to help speed up the MC process. One month ago we found out about our missed miscarriage and at first I was passing everything fast and "naturally"..at my first scan, 10 days after I started bleeding, I had only 5ml of POC left. I went for another scan 10 days later, it showed 2 ml and the last one on last Friday showed 4 ml so it seams like its not moving much and we discussed with the doctor that we would help it the tablets that you insert and they are supposed to open your cervix and help with the passing. My question is, if anyone had a similar experience, how intense was this process after taking the tablets and how long did it take for you to pass the leftover tissue? Was it successful? Was the bleeding any heavy? It is Monday and I am thinking if I should risk taking it during the week or wait until the weekend so Im home the whole time. I am quite annoyed that the doctor I saw on Friday didnt suggest this she only mentioned surgical treatment...I could have do it over the weekend but now I may need to wait even longer. And if it doesnt work, then go again to the doctora and see when they can book me for D&C. I just feel like I am tired of all the waiting its been dragging and if I could choose, I wouldnt wait any longer. Thats why I am interested what the process really feels like. I will appreciate any comments. Thank you!

Sorry for the typos-writing on the phone while travelling from work.

Hi, I had this with an MMC,baby stopped growing at 8w. I had a good experience, minimal pain, just like a period. I had some strong painkillers prescribed if I needed them. It started about 10hrs after taking them and lasted around 24 hours. I had the days of work, I'm glad I did as while the physical process was okay, I wasn't emotionally ready to be around other people.

Good luck op, it's a rubbish thing to go through X

I would caution anybody having medical management to do it at hospital under supervision. My first one failed and my second (very unusually and unexpectedly) resulted in emergency surgery so I’d be dead if I’d gone home. Obviously, that’s very much outside the norm but I think worth saying. With only a small amount of “product” (sorry, I hate using that word too) left it should be fine and would give you some closure, just a more speeded up version of what you’ve already endured. But have medical support x

Thank you for sharing your experience ladies. I wasnt prescribed any painkillers, ro you think I can use any over the counter painkillers should I need it? I forgot to ask. I feel like I would like to do it this evening...my partner is off tomorrow so he can take our son to school and I am only working from 12. So if they start working within an hour as the doctor said, I am hoping it could be enough time since I am at the final stages of the process. But then again if it doesnt start right away it may be tricky. I have this feeling that it should hopefully go easily and without much pain since I dont have much to pass. But everyone seams to have really different experience so its hard to judge what will happen. @Livid21 Im so sorry that you had such an emergency situation. May I ask what exactly went wrong?
