What should I do? 27 weeks

Hi ladies,
I'm 27 weeks and about an hour ago I had brown blood when I went to the toilet. I don't have a way of getting to the hospital at this time but I have an appointment tomorrow (not about this) in the afternoon so was thinking of leaving it until then? I've had pains for a few hours too but I think it's just Braxton hicks. Second pregnancy, no complications first time until labour but I don't want to make a fuss over nothing, I went at 24 weeks at 2am due to no movement so I don't want them thinking I'm overreacting. If anyone else has had this what did you do?

I would telephone your Triage Unit/ Midwife for some advice, even if it is just for reassurance. Hope all is ok for you.

Pandabandit · 23/02/2019 18:49

Can you call the hospital and see what they say?

CrystalTeddyBear · 23/02/2019 18:51

I can call the midwife but at this time it'd be the emergency midwife on call's number.

You can phone triage at the hospital maternity unit. No chance would I leave that till the next day without getting a bit of advice.

CrystalTeddyBear · 23/02/2019 18:56

The hospital my midwife is at doesn't have a triage unit, that hospital is nearly 2 hours away.

Braxton Hicks shouldn't be painful, they can be uncomfortable though but I definitely think if you can describe them as painful you should get some proper medical advice.

I don't think you should be ignoring blood.

KindnessCrusader · 23/02/2019 19:09

Definitely phone op!

Flamingosnbears · 23/02/2019 19:14

100% phone them. It's probably ok but always better safe than sorry with these things xx

I don’t nirmall say this but phone an ambulance and get checked out in hospital

PrawnOfCreation · 23/02/2019 19:18

You need to speak to a professional.

If you live in such an isolated area there must be a system in place for this sort of issue, maybe the team on call for homebirths cover it? Anyway, not your concern but do ring.
