Looking to find out if there are any psoriasis sufferers on here with any advice?
I developed quite bad scalp psoriasis around a year ago. I now have it in and behind my ears and a little on my face too although that has calmed down.
Cant seem to identify what makes the flare ups worse and have been on a variety of gels and treatments in the last year. Some help to calm it but it always flares again.
I'd love to get a break from the scalp psoriasis but trying to avoid the prescription / steroid gels for now while pregnant.
Sticking to cetraben and coconut oil to help with moisturising my scalp for comfort. Just wondering if anyone else on here has any experience of treating this while pregnant?
I have heard that pregnancy can cause it to calm or go away completely but that's not been my experience so far.

I have to come off my injectable psoriasis treatment when pregnant. I use Eucerin to keep the itching down and some dovobet for my scalp when it gets really bad and needs an intense treatment.

My psoriasis disappeared by the second trimester but was back with a vengeance within a few days of giving birth, but my hospital had a prescription waiting for me as soon as I gave birth.

Lots of oat baths and lots of moisturising will help the pain if you're in any.

Clarting pure coconut oil melted works well for me, I tend to leave it on whilst relaxing in the bath.
Also body shop ginger shampoo and conditioner

Would recommend Loyon - cradle cap treatment for babies (can find it in Boots).
I have horrific psoriasis over my whole scalp with very thick, itchy scales. I drown my scalp with Loyon, leave over night and wash it out first thing in the morning. As I wash my hair the scales come away completely! No scraping needed at all and I can then actually feel the skin on my scalp - there is NO better feeling! lol!
I do this once per month to keep on top of it or when it gets too uncomfortable and it clears the lot! Have tried every over the counter product under the sun, but this is the only thing that has done the trick for me at clearing it all away easily.

That definitely sounds worth a try, thank you.
I've tried capasal (felt like it was melting my hair), tgel (made no difference) and dermal currently, wouldnt say its improved things but hasn't made it worse.
I've tried dovobet and didn't work. Elocon worked for a couple of weeks then went as bad as ever again. Last thing I was given was synalar gel, again it works to an extent but hasn't really cleared it up for any length of time. Given timodene for my inner ears and eumovate for patches on my face. Could open a pharmacy at this rate. Just wish there was a magic cure for it as it can really leave you feeling low!
