Headache for 24 hours, but BP normal

Hi all. Me again Grin

I'm currently 37+5 with my first baby, and for over 24 hours have had a nagging headache. It will go away for a few hours if I rest or take paracetamol, but will return after a while.

I had a midwife appointment today and both my BP and urine were normal, so midwife wasn't concerned and said it's likely hormonal (it's actually very similar to the headaches I used to get before AF so perhaps she's onto something!).

Did anyone else get headaches in late pregnancy? Any remedies? Caffeine and paracetamol help temporarily but it always comes back! I feel fine otherwise.

Thanks Smile

A 24 headache doesn’t sound normal to me
I’d ring 111 and get a second opinion /advice

I suppose I should add that I've only just got over a rather nasty cough and cold. I also used to suffer from migraines before pregnancy but, at least so far, they'd massively improved since I got pregnant.

Are you dehydrated maybe? That is a usual culprit. I think given that you've been checked over and given the all clear today, I'd wait until tomorrow or the day after to ask to be checked over again if it's still around then, unless there's any change in your symptoms before that - like if you suddenly swell up or the paracetamol stops working. Hopefully with plenty of fluids and a good rest tonight, it'll go away.

I’m only in early pregnancy but I’ve had a constant heachahe for a week. Paracetamol doesn’t touch it and no one seems bothered about it. They just keep saying hopefully it will go away soon.

If combined with a cold it could be sinuses? Might be worth trying some steam to see if that helps at all?

Mine tend to be tension headaches and they can last quite a long time. I have found that applying heat to the back of my neck and shoulders (hot water bottle or similar) helps me massively.
