Twice today actually... please tell me I’m not alone! I have a pretty awful cough & when ever it gets a bit vigurious I pee myself!! I’m 26 weeks with baby number 2. Please tell me this lack of bladder control is related to (this) pregnancy & not permanently damaged from child birth!? Blush

Speak to your GP or midwife to find out how to be referred for physio, there are exercises that can help xx

You're most definitely not alone. I'm also on my second pregnancy. I thought my pelvic floor had got away relatively unscathed from the birth of my first but I'm not so confident of that now! Hoping things return more to normal after pregnancy.

Yes im the same, had a terrible cough and 21weeks pregnant with DC2 and if i have a vigorous coughing fit then a little bit of wee has been coming out. Pelvic floor was fine after DC1, i have been doing my exercises during this pregancy and hoping it's just a blip whilst pregnant. I do rememeber when i was pregnant with DC1 and i had a sneezing fit that i was mortified i had let some wee out.

You're not alone, my jeans constantly smell like a tube station late at night. My midwife gave me excellent kegel tips, I just forget to do them.

I absolutely relate. I never exercised my pelvic floor although my bladder control was destroyed from giving birth to no.1. Now paying the price in pregnancy with no.2. My obstetrician recommends physio after the birth. He is actually an expert in this area, so I will as him for a referral. In the meantime, I manage with incontinence pads. The thinnest ones work well for me.

Tena pads are the answer. Bladder weakness is one of the joys of being a mother . Get some Tena pads and you'll be fine.

I recommend the Squeezy app for your phone to remind you when and how to do your pelvic floor exercises. It is very likely to improve after birth but pelvic floor exercises are essential. Tena pads come in all sorts of sizes and will help too.
