I'm sure this is probably not allowed but wondered if anyone knew anyway. I'm being admitted to hospital tomorrow for steroids and monitoring of my baby due to no fluid, they plan to keep me in and give me a section at 34 weeks (a week today) with my last baby my partner was allowed to stay with me till baby was born, I don't have a partner this time but don't want to be on my own the entire time I'm in hospital. Its half term this week and my 12 year old son is Coming with me for my appointment tomorrow, do you think he would be allowed to stay a night or two with me? I'm pretty sure it's not allowed though

No, he won't be allowed to stay. Those who do stay sleep on a chair - he wouldn't want to do that anyway!

Do you have family or friends he can stay with?

YogaWannabe · 17/02/2019 16:44

I don’t think that would be fair on your DS. Surely he has friends he’d rather spend his time off with?

The other children are staying with my brother and my mum and that is the plan for him. But he is very anxious about being away from me and I didn't want to be on my own. I just thought a night or two would have been nice but like I say I didn't think it would be possible

I’m afraid I don’t think this would be allowed. Anybody who was staying to support you would need to be an adult otherwise if you were unwell or had to be rushed to theatre for some reason there would then be a minor on the ward which the staff would not be willing or able to take responsibility for
